The area
Address
Neighborhood: Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.

Aug 2016 • Solo
the spa consists of a warm up room, two silly showers, a steam room and a jacuzzi! Hello? and that you pay 40.- E for?
I get more luxury and options in my local gym for a quarter of the prize. Ridiculous

We searched all over Barcelona for a spa to do last minute massages and this was the only one we could find. The staff was friendly at first as soon as we walked in though the smell of mildew was overwhelming. We were given dirty used one time sandals and weird smelling robes. We almost left but I was really needing a massage so we decided to stay. Everything is old and mildewy and We didn't really want to touch anything, it seemed like a place you could catch a staff infection. The massages were very good however and we were happy with that, but he charged us anyway for the spa use even though we didn't use anything. They definitely need to renovate and clean I would NEVER go back.

A good experience

I booked, by telephone a session of 2 hours for me and my girlfriend, including 30 minutes of massage, plus hour and half of spa. Very friendly girl on the phone, which explained everything about the program. Once we reached there, the staff was very friendly and they provided some flip flops, a robe, a dispensable underwear and asked us if we wanted something to drink. We initiated the session with massages. I don't know the names of the masseuses, but I got a blond girl and my girlfriend got a brunette one. Mine did an excellent job. It was my first message ever and I got really relaxed. Unfortunately, the brunette did not make an excellent job. It was Ok, but nothing special. That's the only reason I give 4 out of 5 in my evaluation. After the messages, we got to the spa, with some Turkish bath and then the giant hot tub, and some Cava drink.

We had an excellent time, and it was the perfect gift for my girlfriend's birthday. I surely recommend this Spa.

Though located in upscale area of Barcelona, near Sarria and Gracia, off Passeo de Gracia, the facility is updated and in need of renovation. It is a very spartan facility, the changing areas are co-ed and very small. There is nothing "luxury" or "spa" like about the facility, it is very utilitarian. You are offered a robe, paper thong and flip-flops.

If the massage had been fabulous then it might have compensated for the YMCA-like atmosphere of the facility. Instead the massage was in a warm room (the a/c was not working well) with a table that was very high off the ground and difficult to get to. The table itself smelled of the massage oil and sweat. It was an unpleasant odor. The massage lady, Lydia, did not spend much time asking about history or areas of concern. Instead she dove right into the massage and used A LOT of oil. So much oil. Her strokes were mediocre and despite given repeated feedback on the pressure, she did not adjust. At times it was painful. It is quite common for the provider to ask the client if they are satisfied during the massage but she did not. You had the ability to take a shower after with liquid soap on a wall. Again, not a luxury experience. Despite showering the smell of the oil and the oiliness feel still linger. Music came on and off intermittently, loud and static.

And I feel I need a massage to recover from the "massage."

I do not recommend this place.

Great location, great spa!

After three days of beach volley, I was sore in every muscle, and needed some help. I found this marvelous place, where Frances took care of the cicuit, with perfect attention of the detail. Liana then gave me 60 minutes of tender but firm massage, loosening up all my knots and relaxing the rest :-)

I came in at 13.30 a Tuesday, and had the center all to myself, a great way to feel extra well. Next time in Barcelona, I'll repeat :-)

Love this spa

I lived in Barcelona for about one year and had a hard time finding a good spa where i could get a good deep tissue massage. My mom came to visit and we booked massages at Aqua Urban Spa. It was really great. The spa itself is quite small but all your basic spa needs are met. There is a pool, sauna, steam room, etc. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and the prices are reasonable. Blanca had magical hands, I felt so great after my one hour massage. I would absolutely recommend this place to travelers and locals alike.

Great pool!
Feb 2013 • Friends
I'm a bit mixed about this Spa, but don't know if that's because I've been spoilt with other spa experiences. On finding the place, the exterior building next door was all scaffolded up and wasn't very welcoming, but this didn't affect the experience at all.

We booked a great deal package that included use of the pool and its facilities for an hour, with a 30 minute massage.

However, I didn't feel particular relaxed here. The staff at the time spoke little English and so it felt like we were being ushered to get changed. Then to the spa/pool area, where I felt they could really have done with some better mood lighting. Tea lights in the dark just felt like they had ran out of electricity. We were told to go into the sauna then left to it. There were about 5 rooms within the spa area but 3 had no lights on, so we presumed they were no-go areas. (Perhaps it was here that I missed out). We then hopped into the steam room.

There were no instructions to anything, so I felt like a naughty school kid pressing all the buttons I could find to see what would happen. The 'water circuit' where you walk through with jets spurting at you would have felt great had they not been absolutely freezing, (the general air was a bit too cold too).

The jet pool was impressive, with it's different jets and massaging effects.
The heated chairs were standard, although mine didn't work and was ice cold.

The massage afterwards was a relaxing one which I was a tad disappointed with as I prefer a more re-juvenating massage after all the walking and exploring we had done in the city, but it was good all the same, bar the creaking fold up beds.

On getting changed back into our clothes, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty, the hair dryers were broken so we had to ask for one. It felt like it wasn't very well looked after, and had the general feel of being not the most clean place, especially with it being so dark.

Like said before, I've been to better spas, but it was a good hideaway for the afternoon.

Nice little treat.
Researched this spa on the Internet. Easy to find. Staff very attentive with good English.
Clean, well organised. Had a package which included use of the facilities and 30 minute massage. Staffs experience shown through. Would highly recommend. A lovely afternoon
