We had a great time exploring opportunities the narrow streets of Gothic district, colourful market, and taking pictures . Stefano has clear vision on what is working in a photograph and why, and I could clarify some things I was uncertain about, and learned some other. Highly recommended!

Stefano is a professional who is very patient with people, and able to guide me to great spots for pictures in the early morning. The stops were carefully considered for their appeal, and to stretch ones photographic capabilities. I certainly intend to book Stefano again when I return to Barcelona in the future.

This wasn't my first visit in Barcelona. Yet Stefano showed me places which even many locals don't know about. Inspiring 3 hours with a friendly guy! Thanks, Stefano! I'm thinking of coming for more on my next trip :-)

I've found photo walks to be an excellent way to learn about new cities I visit and become a better photographer. I researched various photo walks in Barcelona and chose Stefano's because he offers a pre-sunrise one which runs when the streets are clear and provided an opportunity to practice my long exposure photography. I used the form to contact Stefano and few hours later he got back to be about available dates and times. I'd recommend you don't leave this to the last minute like I did. You pay a deposit up front over PayPal and then the remainder of the balance in cash after the photo walk. The instructions and information that Stefano provided in attached PDFs was clear and he answered all of my questions, including the exact location to meet. He also offered to meet a little early given that sunrise in late May is pretty early. Stefano had a few questions about the equipment I had with me since there is no point in going out in low-light without a tripod. He has a tripod available for rental, but it's probably best to bring your own travel tripod so you get familiar with it. The MeFoto tripod I use is small, stable, and fairly inexpensive. I used: Canon DSLR camera, 24-105mm lens, 10-22mm wide-angle lens (useful), MeFoto travel tripod, and circular polariser (since the sun is up by the end of the tour.) A mini-tripod and iPhone would probably work too if you are constrained. Stefano had a great plan for our walk that included some very popular shots of Barcelona. At other times these places would be crowded, but at 6am the streets are pretty deserted. This was true for most of the locations we shot until about 8am. It is a good idea to be clear about why you are taking a photo walk. I think I'm an intermediate photographer, but I normally shoot general travel and street photography. I'm not an architecture or landscape photographer. This is an important distinction as I wasn't using the technical capabilities of my camera to their fullest and haven't thought as much about composition for this type of photography. Stefano pointed out good compositions and explained the aperture and shutter settings that he was using. Together we worked out how to achieve them on my Canon camera. I wouldn't expect a guide like Stefano to be an expert on every camera, but together it was possible to work out the settings. Even if you are a beginner you will be able to surprise yourself with the photos you get, but a little bit of investment ahead of time on long-exposure settings and bringing your camera manual in PDF on your phone will give you more time. Stefano had a clear plan and idea of locations in the Gothic Quarter. We were able to move efficiently and we even returned to a couple of places to get additional shots. Stefano sets himself up for shots so you can imitate what he is doing and be in close proximity for advice. This was an excellent experience that I'd recommend doing this early on a trip to Barcelona. That way you can return to the places you've visited if you want to get additional photos. Plus, for people like me that don't like typical guided tours I got my bearings for the area without having to explore on my own. (I didn't think about this during the photowalk, but TripAdvisor asks about wheelchair accessibility. I felt that the locations we visited felt pretty accessible compared to many in Barcelona.)

We began our first visit to Spain with a nighttime and a daytime photowalk. Stefano guided us to the best locations and perspectives in Barri Gotic. He was both helpful and encouraging. I ended up learning more about my camera and experiencing historical Barcelona in an unique and memorable way. I continued exploring other regions of Spain applying lessons taught by a professional photographer. What a delight!
