If you are looking for a food tour in Barcelona, look no further. The Aborigens food tour was a perfect orchestration of Catalan culture through local markets, shops and food houses interwoven with stories of local Catalan life. Our family did the vermouth tour with 2 young children, and the whole family had an outstanding time. Francesc has a very warm and easy going personality and made the tour feel like a walk through town with a close friend. We will make sure to contact Aborigens the next time we are in Barcelona.

Of the 15+ food tours I’ve been on The Beyond Tapas tour was hands down the best food tour. What really sets this tour apart is that it felt so authentic without a scripted itinerary vs other tours where it’s very clear they go to the same pre-set places every time. Secondly, I appreciated Francesc’s deep knowledge and passion for the food, culture, and politics of Catalonia. When I make it back to Spain I absolutely want to do one of their culinary vacations.

My childern booked the Truffle hunting trip for us as a preset while we were travelling in Barcelona which turned out to be great and we fully enjoyed it. The guide Francesc is very friendly with great knowledge of history and food plus many more. The truffle hunting activities is very interesting one can learn so many things too. Of course, the high light is the lunch which is one actually taste the truffle - lots of it plus great food to enjoy. It simply is excellent.

The Beyond Tapas Tour was probably one of the best things we did on our entire trip to Barcelona. If you are lucky enough to get a tour with Cesc you are in for a treat. I'm sure everyone would ideally love to have a best friend that's a local in the area wherever you travel. This tour is as close as you get to something like that!! I didn't feel like a tourist, I didn't feel like I was on a "food tour". It felt like I was hanging out with a small group of friends and eating REALLY good food from local little small shops and hearing from a local the struggles of being a Catalan. Cesc really listened to what most we were excited to try on the tour, so don't be shy to tell him what you like and don't like beforehand. I CANNOT express enough how amazing this tour was and I wish I could do a tour like this every foreign country I go to.

Every city we visit we take a food tour and Barcelona was no exception. We knew we didn’t want the typical tapas and paella tour so when we came across this group it was like it was meant to be. We signed up for the Beyond Tapas tour and it was amazing! The tour guide Cesc was friendly and knowledgeable. Every dish and drink was interesting and unique from anything we have had before and they were all good! We were so full by the end we felt like we should be rolled back to the hotel lol. I would recommend this tour for anyone who really wants to get to know Catalan cuisine and culture.
