Neighborhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Cracking wee Scottish bar in Catalyuna, complete with Inverness Callie shirt framed on the wall. We swung by for a few pints whilst staying at a nearby hostel. Staff were very friendly as well.

We travelled from Aberdeen, Scotland, to Barcelona for a game at the Camp Nou and visited the Loch Inn on the Sunday in the hope that they would be showing our home team's game live and they did! Bonus! We met some lovely people including a delightful little boy called Rufo with whom my daughter enjoyed an hour long game of flick football. Friendly people - can't wait to visit next year - hoping to bring Dave Harris some goodies from his native Aberdeen!

Wandering around Barcelona on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon when we came across this bar... We've been in Catalunya for 5 months now so was nice to see a Scottish Bar & we thought we'd go in & get a nice friendly Scottish welcome.... Not at all....

The bar was empty apart from the English guy behind the bar & 1 guy sitting at the bar. My partner went to the bar with an upbeat manner & was met with a very dry & unfriendly manner in return! We had to help ourselves to drinks out of the fridge then were given the price with no please or thank you at all! Our friend that we had visiting from Scotland asked where the toilets were & the guy just pointed in the direction without uttering 1 word then went straight back to watching the football & looking at stuff on his computer!

After our drinks we left & didn't even get a thank you, a smile or a farewell....

Safe to say we will never step foot in this bar again & we will be telling all our Scottish & Catalan friends not to waste their time either! Greatly disappointed :(

With all the rave reviews, I walked in the rain from Plaza de Catalunya, expecting a bit of atmosphere. Not so. The pub was empty apart from the one English guy that entered in front of me and the English barman. Obviously mates, they turned their backs on me, discussing the day's events and, after my patience ran out, I had to interrupt them to get a beer.

After finishing that, I couldn't be bothered interrupting them from whatever they were studying on the computer to order another.

Fair enough, it was Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock but Scottish pubs are typically places of cheer, warmth and welcome. Just a smile and hello would have been something - I would have got more cheer buying the beer in the supermercado.

The Italian review summed it up - banal.

Awesome place to visit whether your a local or not, the Loch Inn has super friendly staff who create a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere... somehow, both Scottish and Spanish

The bar is a true international bar, popular with the locals, where you'll find a great selection of drinks and food and all for good prices. Sit at the bar and chat to some randoms, watch the sport on the multiple tv screens or enjoy the music with a good whiskey, its definitely worth a visit if you're in the city.

So forget all those crap themed Irish bars you'll find dotted around the city, this place wins hands dowm.

Friendly Scottish-run Pub in the centre of Barcelona. There was a nice mix of Locals and Ex-Pats either inside or out on the terrace. Good selection of beers on tap and the wine was better than you find in most pubs. Prices were much better compared to what we'd been paying on the Ramblas. Check it out on your way from or to Barcelona's Arc de Triumf.

Popped in to watch the RWC and went back the next day to watch others. Lawson the owner is a top bloke and greets you like a friend. Let me open up a tab. This is not your typical "Brit bar". There are people from all nations using this place. Met some wonderful people here. Brew Dog IPA on draught was very good. Great selection of malts. Toilets a let down with no toilet seat in the gents. But overall I know I shall make a beeline for this place when next in Barcelona
