    Barcelona Cooking: Sooooo Good!
If you love to create delicious food, and really get an appreciation of the culture of a place through its recipes, I highly recommend signing up with Barcelona Cooking for a session. So much fun! Our chef was so chill, welcoming, and knowledgeable. He gave us a wonderful tour of the local market, where we picked up our fresh ingredients and got great perspective of harvesting and preparation techniques…as well as what the locals really eat! We then proceeded to the (very clean) kitchen, where we all got to play chef, under our host’s watchful and very chill eye. The result: got to prepare, appreciate and enjoy some delicious plates, and connect with folks with a similar passion for food and culture. The simplicity of fresh ingredients made each dish sing (tomato bread, squash/pear soup, seafood paella, custard cream dessert). They were also generous with the wine…once the prep work and knives were put away lol. Excellent time! You won’t be disappointed.

La Boqueria market and cooking class
This was an amazing cooking experience! Juan is a wonderful chef and is very patient. The shopping excursion to the La Bouqueria market was exhilarating and informative! The ingredients we used were so fresh. The wine pairings were local and delicious. I would highly recommend Juan and this cooking school. The kitchen was spacious and immaculate. The cook top was kitchen quality and utensils top notch!

Hands-on cooking with lots of wine
This is the place to go if you want to just show up to the location and have an engaging cooking class with as much wine as you want. Theya re not kidding about the unlimited premium wine. We opted for the "Spanish cooking" class where we made gazpacho, pan tomate, chicken paella (they make chicken paella on Mondays, not seafood,) tortilla de papas, and crema catalan. Such a great participatory experience and we really learned how to cook the dishes. I looked at many bad reviews of other experiences where you walk across town and go on a boring visit to the most touristy market which is potentially closed at that time and the sangria runs out and you don't really participate in the cooking. I'm SO glad we came here to Barcelona Cooking instead. Thank you so much Sonia for a wonderful experience!

We went to a cooking class with friends and totally enjoyed it and can highly recommend it!
Chef Candido is very knowledgeable and sympatic. We prepared really good typical Spanish food.
The place is clean and hygenic.

What an incredible four hour experience. We had just left our ship after traveling across the Atlantic and what a great experience. Our chef was amazing . . . we went to market to pick up fresh fish for our paella. Returned to begin our lessons . . . we made strawberry gazpacho soup, potato tostados, toasted garlic bread w/ tomatoes and seafood paella. But the amazing part was 13 strangers working together, including two young boys, chopping fruits and vegetables, to make an incredible meal with a fantastic dessert of creme brulee. The instructor made the experience so delightful and she provided so many hints how we could duplicate the cooking when we returned home. We encourage you to sign up and have fun at the Barcelona Cooking School.

We did a private cooking class for 4 of us and designed our menu and skipped the Market tour as we had done that before. They were very receptive to developing a menu that all of us enjoyed cooking ...and eating! We made Gazpacho, Spanish omelette with bread and tomato, Garlic prawns, Bombas, Croqueta de jamĂłn - (the best we have ever eaten!), Patatas Bravas & Catalan cream for dessert!
Chef Alex was fantastic and really had all of us participate in every aspect of preparing the meal. He was very understandable and his teaching skills match his cooking skills. The location is truly beautiful and the final dinner was most enjoyable. Oh! ...and yes the beer and wine flowed very freely! We will be back in 2024 for the America's Cup and will once again design a private cooking class with a new and varied menu and we will request that Alex be our 'Chef'!

Not only did I love all the food we made but the class itself. My instructor, Candido, was very engaging and made the class so much fun. I truly feel I learned many skills and the culinary aspect of Spanish culture. I highly recommend taking a class (and even requesting Candido) You will not regret it.

The Tapas cooking class started with a tour of the market, where Chef Juan purchased the ingredients for our dinner: Mussels Escabeche, Meat Balls with Cuttlefish, Fingerling Potatoes with spicy sauce and aioli, and Crema Catalan. The class of a dozen people divided into three groups to prep and cook under Chef's guidance. Ingredients, techniques, and methods were discussed in a fun, engaging environment. The meal with wine was shared along with cooking and travel stories. It was a great experience.

We had a brilliant time at this cooking class on our first night in Barcelona and would definitely recommend doing the market tour add on, it's an amazing place. Juan was a brilliant guide and a patient teacher, who is clearly very passionate about both food and people. We're both quite nervous about meeting new people but he made us feel at ease from the first minute!

We also had some contact with Emma prior to booking and on the day, who was also lovely and welcoming.

The recipes were clearly explained and, most importantly, delicious! We've already been sent copies of the recipes, so we can try them out at home.

If you're looking to take a reminder of your trip home with you, this experience is definitely a better souvenier than any other!

As a family of 7 we did the Tapas cooking class. It was a fabulous experience for all. We met new people cooked delicious food and drank a lot of wine. Our instructor was great, she was easy to understand and explained everything. Even the none cookers were able to help. I would recommend this experience. The recipes were emailed to us to try at home.

This was hands down one of the best activities I have ever booked! Our Cooking Class with Juan was just amazing, from the beginning to the end. We started with our tour to the market (which I can highly reccomend. You should go for the dinner offer, which includes the market tour).
The whole group consisted of 6 people plus Juan - so in total 5 people who I have never met before. Juan made this whole event so warm and welcoming while teaching us great skills and in the end it made for an amazing dinner menu. All the while we were having wine and great chats. It sounds cheesy, but we all met as strangers and parted ways as friends.
Highly recommend!

This was a brilliant 4 hours with Juan. He took us shopping for ingredients in La Boqujeria market, itself a great experience. His approach made sure all the group was constantly involved, and all done with fanatsic good humour: he is brilliant at remembering names! The end results were most impressive and enjoyable. It was also a very good bonding exercise for the group. Thoroughly recommend the experience.
