Very busy attraction, but if you do not have tickets on the day it is still worth a wander around the outside. Amazing so much to look at. You can book tickets on line before your visit, sometimes the open top buses have tickets available in the morning.

I recommend the tour they sell there at the basilica coupled with a little self-guided walk about the main floor. The tour is sold at the main lobby and there are multiple time slots to choose from. You can also purchase online. The tours are offered in at least two or three languages including English. I would recommend getting one... More

This beautiful Church is located in the Gothic Quarters and it has great huge pillars that reach the arched roof. Not huge crowds like the other churches. You can take your time and look at the details and look at the sculptures and art.

We went in here twice while in Barcelona. What a place it was so lovely, ive never been in a cathedral with so many small chapels all the way around. my particular favourite was the cloisters outside. it is fantastic and as we have just been the centre area was set out in a lovely nativity scene, with a little... This church is worth a visit to see as its lovely inside, it can get quite busy as its a popular tourist attraction, there are times when you can get in for free so make the most of this.

What a stunning Bascilica. Huge and ornate, you can spend a day inside and still not see everything. We were blown away by the magnificense of it.

Its a nice visit, but nothing spectacular. The best part about it is the area its in and the Gothic influences. Great to walk around. If you are short on time its not something you have to see.

Such a beautiful basilica, not as crowded as the Sagradi but almost as beautiful! There is an 8Euro entrance but it is completely worth it, an amazing experience to see a piece of history.

Amazing church with architecture that will take your breath away. If you can get there to see the holy mass even better.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
