Hopped off the tour bus into this beautiful architectural design of a building =) It is quite grand, sense of calm/peace and worth a visit if you're in town.

Started in 1329, with a brief interruption of work in 1340, it was completed in just 54 years - a very short time for a medieval church of its size. The stained glass windows which date back to the 15th to 18th centuries all survived the Spanish Civil War. It's considered to be the most impressive example of Catalan Gothic... More

We did not go on an organized tour but you can enter the cathedral for a fee and tour the interior. The church is very grand and tall inside with lots of interesting relics.

There are many splendid churches in Barcalona and this has to be one of the best. It is always a tough decisions as what to see when you are on a weekend break but this one is a must. The only downside to our visit was that we could only fit it in on a Sunday and access was restricted... More

Gorgeous basilica in the gothic quarter. Strangely, they charge an entrance fee (5eu) during the afternoon, but it is open later in the day and you can enter free of charge. Wonderful shopping in this area too! Local artisans and shops surround the basilica for an authentic experience.

You have to go inside to believe it. To think it took over 50 years to build and it was built by the "commoners" is amazing. Must are this. Spectacular.

The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
