Fantastic show of Jazz musicians. Supposed to be the student gig night, I think, however more so pros and lecturers from the nearby college. Every changing musicians through the course of the night (A Tues or Wed, I think!! Our Barca hol has now become one great big brilliant blur!!!) This was definitely a highlight!!!

Went to a show on a Friday night with a friend. Payed 10 euro (including one drink) each for two hours is incredible flamenco singing/guitar/dance. Not hokey/touristy/production-ized flamenco, just some very talented young people (like the amazing indie-band equivalent of flamenco). Make sure you go at least 20min early because seating is everywhere (aka on the steps, windowsills - where... More

Each evening of the week tends to have a theme. Mondays seems to be Latin American. We saw/heard the Reuben Peloni Trio, a Tango trio fronted by Reuben, with tight rhythms from pianist Christian Moya (whose left hand is a rhythm section on its own) and squeezebox by Dario Polonara. This is a friendly club, where good natured banter is... More

Perfect for people who love music, dance performances or just love to get a feel of the culture. Great atmosphere, great staff, amazing flamenco shows. Very popular among flamenco bars in Barcelona.

I wish I could have gone more than once to Jazz Si. It's a small place, but enough to make you feel comfortable and "muy a gustito" with the performances that take place there. The night we went, there was a guy who was singing some songs of Camarón and a flamenco dancer who was incredible. There are drinks and... More

When we go to Barcelona, I always schedule our arrival for a Friday so that I can go to the Jazz Si Club for the Friday night flamenco. This is real flamenco, not tourist flamenco and the artists are always the best. I m also a fan of the manager, Joaquin and his florid introductions of the artists. On my... More

Our first night in Barcelona after 24+ hours travelling from Australia. We made the effort and found the club with a little persistence (a little hard to find). Arrived about 9.30pm and couldn't find space to get in to see the show, however, decided to pay and have a drink while listening to the music. Within 30mins the show ended,... More

The guide books will tell you that most of the flamenco in Barcelona is done for tourists, flamenco not being a style native to Catalunya. If you want to see and hear the real thing, plan for a Friday or Saturday evening at the JazzSí Club. Don't expect decor, great food, or anything besides superb music and dance. The club... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
