I recently visited the Barcelona Zoo with my parter, we were equally upset and shocked at the conditions. The particular areas of concern were the elephants, one of which was rocking its head up and down continuously in sheer boredom. The rhino was very underweight and stood static in the same place from the first time we saw it to... More

On a family holiday to Salou we decided to take a trip to Barcelona to see the Zoo & Camp Nou football stadium. The zoo was huge & had so many animals to see. Unfortunately we didn't make it around the whole park as we were aware of our time for the bus trip home but if you were staying... More

Honestly, if the rspca were allowed in the zoo it would be closed The animals look unhealthy, the animals are in a bad state some even living amongst ground working machinery but for a cage to prevent contact. Don't make this place a priority visit or you will be disappointed

Pre booked for two adults and paid just over €30 for us both which I thought was very good. The zoo is large with a wide verity of animals. The zoo was clean and tidy with plenty of staff working around the park all seemed friendly and helpful. The zoo took several hours to walk around. There's a large play... More

Having been to a few zoos across Europe, we thought we'd give this one a go during our visit to Barcelona. We arrived at around 2.30, knowing the zoo closes at 5 so we were tight for time. Maybe it was because we were visiting later in the day, but a lot of the enclosures appeared to be empty. And... More

This zoo is huge and very animal friendly. We spent a good half day in it and could have been longer but so much else to see in barcelona. Lots of snack places and very clean.

I had heard some not-so-great things about this zoo and most of the pictures I saw seemed very sad, so I was planning on avoiding it. But then we had an unexpected extra day in Barcelona, so we used the opportunity to visit the zoo after I was told about the zoo's improvements. There is a lot of construction and... More

We went to the Zoo last Wednesday, highly underrated!! Taxi driver didnt know where it was and the price to get in was amazingly cheap for so many wonderful animals on display. Train driver was lovely and tried really hard to explain all the animals in broken English, so lovely and friendly... food was ok but burger undercooked and be... More

Staying in Ciutadella / Vila Olimpica

Neighborhood Profile
Ciutadella / Vila Olimpica
The sounds of Marina Olympica's rocking boats and clicking mastheads swaying to and fro set an impressive backdrop for Ciutadella and Villa Olimpica. Follow the aromas of garlic, wine, and fresh local fish to the various restaurants running along the marina. A grand bronze fish statue soaring high above serves as a beacon to those searching for the renowned Casino Barcelona or the extremely popular nightclubs which practically lie on the beach itself.
