    Great experience
Fantastic tourist spot. Enjoyed the full walk from the 2 stone pillars up to the 4 collums and then up 100 steps to the museum. Amazing views! Cafe halfway up so we stopped for a drink and a sit down. Turn right at the museum, left at the carpark and up the path, this will take you all the way through to the main road where the Olympic stadium is on the left. Go past the Olympic stadium down the main road and it takes you to the cable cars which go up to mountjuic Castle. Now that is a view! Wowser! Only complaint. All fountains off due to draught. Such a shame as was looking forward to the magic fountain.

    Worth a visit
The most beautiful views of the city. Panoramic. Picking out the landmarks from the balcony overlooking the Olympic pool. Gorgeous gardens. Ot very busy this time of year. The Barcelona FC is also lovely. Peaceful and once home to the 1992 Olympics

    Very beautiful
It was a pretty nice view. We took a cab up to the cable car entrance and then took the cable car to the castle. The views on the cable car were a bit better than the ones on the mountain but we didn’t go on the top of the castle so the views were probably better there. Beautiful nature though in the park

    Museums, Views
This very large park looms over the port and harbor and contains several world class museums. Also one comes here for spectacular views of the sea and the city below. There are a couple of Metro stations nearby, but the hill is steep and you may need a bus or cab ride to get to the upper reaches. There are escalators on one side.

    Stunning views
We took the cable cars from the bottom to the top. Bought return tickets online for €30 for two people. Entrance at the bottom is right by the public transport. Small queue to go through. We were in a cable car with another couple on the way up, we got off at the top, walked down to the middle entrance and got a cable car in the way down just the two of us. Really quick, some swaying but only when we stopped briefly. Stunning views, love big park, would recommend. There is a small outdoor cafe halfway between the top and middle cable car entrance where you can buy grab a pint!

Huge park, plenty to see and do
Easy to get to. We got one of the buses recommended and got off at the top. We walked around the castle enjoying the views over the port, and then into the park. We walked down to the Olympic Stadium, and down to the plaza at the bottom. We love butterflies and it was great to see several species including Clouded Yellows, Long Tailed Blues, Lang's Short-Tailed Blues.

Big green space, well worth taking the tourist bus up here to explore.
Parc de Montjuic is the name for the big green space perched on the hill that borders Sants and looks over Barcelona and the sea. Montjuïc was originally developed for the 1929 International Exposition and then the 1992 Olympic Games and although most people come here for the Olympic stadium, I came to have a look at the swimming pool perched on the side of the hill. For anyone who watched the Barcelona Olympics the scenes of the High Board diving event with the competitors having that incredible view of the city of Barcelona behind them is something you do not forget. But the area is also well worth visiting for the lots of gardens on this big, green space which you can leisurely stroll through. The big attraction is Jardí Botànic with its collection of Mediterranean plants on steep slopes that provide a great viewpoint. But there are also the Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera, featuring cactus, and the Jardins de Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer, The Jardins de Laribal, and the Jardins Joan Brossa, one of the newest gardens which opens out into a woodland park.

This is one of the most popular places to visit is Barcelona. Some nights they put on a show with the fountain playing with music. Huge fountains, and you can walk up to the museum at the top we’re they have additional fountains. Great place to take some awesome photos while spending a few hours here. The metro is only about 1 block away so getting to and from is very easy.

We walked all the way up to the art museum and turned around to look back at the city and the fountains. We took the cable car to the top to see an even better view of the city and harbor. We went past the buildings used in the Olympic Games in 1992. We could see the big cruise ships in the harbor too. It was all really interesting and the long walk up the hill gave us a good workout!

We travelled up by bus from Pl Espanya. Its the 150 (saying something along the lines of Castell Montjuic on the front) which you get from outside the tourist booth. We used our T-Casual cards which also work on the metro etc. The card machine is not the one as you get on the bus, you need to pass the driver and you will see it on the right part way down the aisle.

Great, windy drive up to the top, with lots of great views. Your last stop is a handful of steps up to the castle. We then decided to walk down, a bit of a challenge at times due to lack of helpful signposts! There are brown signs for things like the Botanical gardens (which we visited), road signs, and a bit of guess work! Also some lamp posts did have maps which saved the day a couple of times! If you walk please go through Jardin Laribel which is absolutely stunning in the Spring. Flowers, wisteria, a waterfall, trees in full blossom - just gorgeous (and free!).

After a good wander with stops on the way we got back down to the magic fountain having thoroughly enjoyed getting away from the city. Not many places to eat or drink though, so bring supplies. In the Botanical gardens there were vending machines in the entrance, but no café! (They are missing a trick there)

The park has so much that you will truly need to spend an entire day. We took our time and did it in two days. There are two Cable cars, we took the Port Cable Car and it drops you off near Hotel Miramar. There is a cafe as you get off and it is fun to have a drink and spend half an hour enjoying the view.

The other Cable car you can get to using the funicular. It was closed during the time we were there. You could take this one going up to Montjuic and the Port Cable Car going down.

There is so much to see that you really should plan your time and not rush it. Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is a must see.

The Montjuic hill and its park are so way more than the magic fountain many here are only writing about.
The park comprises a huge area in the southwestern part of town. You can access it by car with several free parking lots around (and some paying). If you don't have a car the best and most scenic way is by the cable car.
Once up, there's so much to explore: The Monjuic Castle - nice fortress with city views, Botanical gardens, old Monjuic cemetery, Joan Miro museum, Poble Espanol outdoor exhibition, National musuem of Catalonia (MNAC), the Olympic Stadium, cascade fountains including the magic fountain.
Some of these attractions are free, some are paying so decide yourself, but for sure you'll need at least half day for your visit.

This hill can be visited by metro or bus. But if you take the the metro, you have to again take a cable car or a bus from there to reach the castle.
View of the Mediterranean sea & the city of Barcelona from the castle is eye catching! Especially the walk round the castle was great. Visiting inside the fort is a personal choice, which I did not prioritise.
The Olympic sports arenas add to the memorable tour of the Montjuic.!
