We travelled up by bus from Pl Espanya. Its the 150 (saying something along the lines of Castell Montjuic on the front) which you get from outside the tourist booth. We used our T-Casual cards which also work on the metro etc. The card machine is not the one as you get on the bus, you need to pass the driver and you will see it on the right part way down the aisle.
Great, windy drive up to the top, with lots of great views. Your last stop is a handful of steps up to the castle. We then decided to walk down, a bit of a challenge at times due to lack of helpful signposts! There are brown signs for things like the Botanical gardens (which we visited), road signs, and a bit of guess work! Also some lamp posts did have maps which saved the day a couple of times! If you walk please go through Jardin Laribel which is absolutely stunning in the Spring. Flowers, wisteria, a waterfall, trees in full blossom - just gorgeous (and free!).
After a good wander with stops on the way we got back down to the magic fountain having thoroughly enjoyed getting away from the city. Not many places to eat or drink though, so bring supplies. In the Botanical gardens there were vending machines in the entrance, but no café! (They are missing a trick there)

we arrived at the park with the touristic bus hop on hop off very much reccomende to have a firs impression of the city and decide where to go after we got there we took the funicular that accends to the top of the mount and there witing for us was the magnificent castle of mon juic a fortress that guards the port of barcelona . we walked around up and down the castle very much limpressive with his towers and place de arms cannons and every thing else. we enjoyed an excellent hot chocolad beverage served in the nice coffe shop that is situated in the upper level of the castle so we really feeled like the lord of the castle..... :) :)

The ticket is 5 euro just for the castle or you can get tickets for the castle and the botanic gardens for 7 euro (prices for January). We got the tickets only for the castle as the botanic gardens are 25 min away and we were very tired. The castle is nice, like all other castles. Impressive view over Barcelona. There is a small coffee shop inside the castle were you can sit and enjoy the sunshine. I'm sure the surroundings and the castle look much nicer in the spring or summer, but they were ok in January too.

We got the cable car from the underground station, so it isn't a cable car, it is an underground, that was the normal price. But when you get off and get on the cable car it is Barcelona prices, so we walked up. The gardens just up the road on the left are nice to walk through, you then go through a car park, but only cutting across it. When you get to the top it is worth going into the castle because you get above the trees and have a great view of the city and the port. There is also a nice little cafe, but it takes a while to get served, so send someone in as soon as you get a table.
Overall a nice break from the bustle of the city.

This is one of the most popular places to visit is Barcelona. Some nights they put on a show with the fountain playing with music. Huge fountains, and you can walk up to the museum at the top we’re they have additional fountains. Great place to take some awesome photos while spending a few hours here. The metro is only about 1 block away so getting to and from is very easy.

We walked all the way up to the art museum and turned around to look back at the city and the fountains. We took the cable car to the top to see an even better view of the city and harbor. We went past the buildings used in the Olympic Games in 1992. We could see the big cruise ships in the harbor too. It was all really interesting and the long walk up the hill gave us a good workout!

The park has so much that you will truly need to spend an entire day. We took our time and did it in two days. There are two Cable cars, we took the Port Cable Car and it drops you off near Hotel Miramar. There is a cafe as you get off and it is fun to have a drink and spend half an hour enjoying the view.
The other Cable car you can get to using the funicular. It was closed during the time we were there. You could take this one going up to Montjuic and the Port Cable Car going down.
There is so much to see that you really should plan your time and not rush it. Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is a must see.

Easy trip from city center Barcelona via Metro and Funicular. Beautiful views from the top. We were there in January so it was quite chilly but I am sure i the spring it would be a great place to picnic, exercise and enjoy the park. Glad we saw it, was not a lot to see but it has some great info on the castle.

Ciao, mi spiegate un pochino meglio come visitare Montjuic? Conviene portarsi in zona con i mezzi pubblici e poi salire a piedi? Oppure utilizzare funicolare o teleferica?

Personalmente ho preso sia la funicolare che la teleferica soprattutto su quest'ultima puoi godere di una bellissima vista sulla città.
Η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν;

Salve!

As far as I know entry to the park is free. But entry to the castle and things like the cable car ride will cost you. No need to buy tickets online.

We will be taking the metro to visit Parc de Montjuic, please could someone let me know what metro stop to use to get to the funicular railway and is it included in the metro ticket price. I have purchased a 3 day travel pass.

He fellow travelers,
The best way to go is to metro station Paralel, the funicular departs from the same subway station. You can also take the walk up through the beautiful park but it is a bit of a walk. I would recommend talking the funicular up and walk your way down.
Hope this is enough info. Have a great trip
