Would give 10 stars if I could! Lisa was an amazing storyteller and (dare I say) entertainer, keeping the dozen kids' in our group (all ages but roughly 4 to 11) enthralled for two hours. We adults loved it too and were able to ask questions on the side to go into more depth. Absolutely wonderful! We wish we had more time on this trip to do all the Runner Bean Tours there are.

We were looking for a way to explore Barcelona and still keep it interesting for our 8 year old daughter. We discovered this kid friendly tour of the Gothic Quarter and it was everything that we hoped for. The guide was well informed for the adults and had a lot of kid friendly facts and activities for the kids on the tour (lot's of drawing and even a little acting). It was quite long and we had a back-up plan to duck out early if necessary, but our daughter loved it and easily completed the tour. I would highly recommend it to anyone with school age children.

Initially I was concerned about the 3 hour tour for kids. I wasn't sure if my kids ages 5 and 8 could handle the walking and all the information. I was so wrong. Lisa was a wonderful guide and she kept my children entertained and engaged the entire time. This children's tour was one of the best experiences on our trip and absolutely worth the money.

The perfect start to our trip. Lisa had us gripped by the history of Catalonia. She is the Pied Piper of Barcelona for both kids and adults. My husband and I love a walking tour and I wasn’t sure how the kids would take to it but after such a great experience I think it’ll have to be a must-do for all our trips. We didn’t walk too far so the kids easily managed. There were plenty of stops where Lisa told us fascinating stories of Catalonian history or about their culture. The kids are still talking about Wilfred the Hairy and the hand of blood!

Great tour of the Gothic quarter with our guide, Miguel. Great communicator and personality. First class knowledge of the area and quickly achieved a rapport with the group. Excellent English. Thoroughly recommend both the tour and Miguel, a Mallorcan who is now fully immersed in Catalonia.

What a joy it was to take the "Kids and Family Walking Tour" with with Ann-Marie. The first thing that impressed me was that she learned all of our names in a matter of seconds--6 adults and 5 children aged 10, 9, 6, 6, and 5--3 girls and 2 boys. Having been a teacher, I know how amazing that is. She engaged them right away, with paper and crayon. Ann-Marie kept the children's interest with her funny songs, stories, and games. Boys and girls have such different interests, but somehow she kept their attention. She is also a wonderful artist, drawing pictures of Barelona's past--the kids were fascinated watching her draw. The adults had just as much fun as the kids. Thank you so much, Ann-Marie.

Wow - where do you start? From the first moment we met the delightful tour guide Ann-Marie, we knew it was going to be a fun filled 3 hours. Even though it was a full tour with 11kids (and parents) from places far and wide and ages 4-11, her energy and enthusiasm with the kids was amazing. There were some really interesting facts about Barcelona and Spain and she made the history come alive with songs and funny walks to keep the kids enthralled. We got to see a cool mask/puppet maker's studio and real sweets being made first hand whilst meandering around the Gothic Quarter - all things we would not necessarily have found ourselves. Seriously, if you go to Barcelona with kids - you'd be a fool to miss this great tour.

What a lovely review. I really enjoyed reading it. I recognise your daughter from the picture. You are her young looking mother, right? ;-). I am so glad that your family enjoyed the tour and thank you for the fabulous feedback. Thanks a million for uploading the photos too.

We took our 2 boys aged 10 and 7 on this amazing tour of Barcelona. Ann-Marie was the perfect tour guide and kept them amused for the full 3 hours, keeping them busy with the pack given at the start of the tour. Giving them challenges to do along the way, seeing and exploring the old history and city a very good learning experience for the whole family. It was one of the main highlights of our holiday as the boys realized there is more to Barcelona than football and gave them a better in site towards the city. I would definately recommend this to anyone with young families and will be passing on my experiences to my friends and family thanx very much x

We had a great guide on this free walking tour that showed us some places we would not have found on our own. Albert was knowledgeable and told us a lot of the history and current culture. Certainly worth the time and a nice tip.

Absolutely fabulous walking tour around Barcelona’s historic district. Ali, the guide, made it so much fun for the children (ages 6 to 10) and it was interactive right from the start. Ali met us at our hotel, which made it much easier for us. We all learnt about the fascinating history of this district and the role plays, legends, flags and drawings kept the children very entertained. They didn’t realise they’d been walking for 3 hours! It was a definite highlight of our trip. Ali was also helpful with restaurant recommendations which turned out to be excellent. I recommend to any family with children wanting to discover Barcelona in a relaxed, engaging, fun and informative way. Thank you Runner Bean Tours.

Hi!
A huge thank you for your lovely review of my tour. I'm so glad you all enjoyed it :))) The kids were great and that's half the work, I must admit I had a lot of fun too!!
I hope the rest of your stay was a little less "uneventful"!!!
All the best,
Ali

How do I book a tour with you? I do not see a button where I can pay. How much are these tours for 3 adults and 3 or 4 children
Written December 15, 2016
The scheduled Kids & Family Tour runs from April to October and the price is €15 per person. We also run this tour all year around as a private (€155 for a group up to 7 people).

The tour takes place around the Gothic Quarter. We visit some of the highlights in the area as well as more hidden spots that children love, like the Giants Museum or candy making shop. Hope it helps :-)

Would the tour suit a three year old? (We have a pushchair for him when he gets tired)...

The tour is geared towards children 4 to 12 years old so it is not recommended for children so young. Hope this helps.

I have a 4&5 year ild kids with along with 2 old ppl (60+) how convenient is this tour for us?? Will be tirin for the old ppl? And will it engage my small kids?? Thanks
Ayla

Hi Ayla,
The tour is geared towards children 4 to 12 years old and it lasts for 2.5 hours approximately. Sometimes the younger ones can get a bit tired so be sure you bring snacks and water. If the 60+ years old have no walking issues, it should be OK for them.
Hope this helps.
