Though the road bothered because I have fears from heights and cliffs, I thought the drive was not safe, but it is worth the visit. Lovely place from a different world. Buy local food and artisan from the gift shop.

Montserrat should be a must to see thing for Barcelona and Catalonia visitors staying at least 5 days. Amazing place, wonderful and impressive environment, bring some sandwitches and eat wherever you want, if you plan to spend all the day there's plenty of trails to hike, also some caves that are pretty nice.

8+ hour tour with Top Day Tours. Monserrat was the highlight of the tour for us. Awesome place: monastery built on the mountain, beautiful scenery. The drive from Barcelona was almost an hour...but it was worth it. Plan to spend 4+ hours there....lots to see and discover. There was an elevator ride to the peak, but we did not have... More

nice enough venue, beautiful architecture, however I advise go early in the morning to avoid the virgin queues. also try to take an organised bus tour as the train stations are deceptive and confusing. Staff tend to rush you when visiting the relic Could have benefited from more food options at the location

It was absolutely amazing the experience of being there. Some of the lines where way to long and you would have to stand in line the whole 4 hours. I would recommend a full day tour instead of the 4 hours.

We took the train from Espanya station. A train leaves every hour. We bought the tickets and elected to take the cable car up to the Montserrat. It is about 1 hour train ride, little q to get to the cable car 5 minutes unbelibalbe breath taking ride. You can take another train up there (15) minutes if you are... More

Bus ride out of the city to the amazing views of the monastery and the landscape. A train takes you to the monastery, where you can visit the Black Madonna and see the beautiful basilica. The train is on a cable and the tracks run right along the edge of the mountain. Our guide talked on the way out of... More

We went on a half day guided tour of Montserrat which included the rack rail ride up the mountain.the tour was well organised. Our guide was excellent. If you just want a snapshot of the Monastery then half day tour is sufficient.
