It was absolutely amazing the experience of being there. Some of the lines where way to long and you would have to stand in line the whole 4 hours. I would recommend a full day tour instead of the 4 hours.

We are a family of 5, 3 college kids. Left on the train from plaza espanya at 1236. 1 hour ride to Airtram up to the abbey etc. The ticket is 20 euros round trip including the Airtram. I think you can go one more stop on the train and get on a train to the abbey abbey as well.... More

We took the train from Espanya station. A train leaves every hour. We bought the tickets and elected to take the cable car up to the Montserrat. It is about 1 hour train ride, little q to get to the cable car 5 minutes unbelibalbe breath taking ride. You can take another train up there (15) minutes if you are... More

Bus ride out of the city to the amazing views of the monastery and the landscape. A train takes you to the monastery, where you can visit the Black Madonna and see the beautiful basilica. The train is on a cable and the tracks run right along the edge of the mountain. Our guide talked on the way out of... More

We went on a half day guided tour of Montserrat which included the rack rail ride up the mountain.the tour was well organised. Our guide was excellent. If you just want a snapshot of the Monastery then half day tour is sufficient.

The cable car ride was great. Could see the lovely views from up there. When we arrived there, it was so scenic and worth the trip.

By I would choose the full day trip that also goes to the Cava winery. The Cathedral is beautiful and take the cable car up to the top of the mountain and have a picnic with wine and cheese purchased in the village.

Not very common day trip from Barcelona but indeed very interesting. Admire the serrated-knife shape of the mountains and do a 1 or 2 hr. walk from the monastery.

Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences.
