With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. I had the most incredible time at the Harlem jazz club. The music, the atmosphere, everything was simply amazing. We happened to visit during an open mic session, and let me tell you, the performers were absolutely outstanding. They exceeded all my expectations. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a hidden gem that may be a little out-of-the-way, but once you find it, you'll realize it's actually very close to the Rumbla and easy to access. The vibrant energy of the place is infectious, and it was packed to the brim with enthusiastic jazz lovers. If you're looking for a memorable and vibrant experience, this is the place to be. Trust me, you won't regret it!

I was a featured Singer at the Harlem Jazz Club on the 16th of December with Chino and his Swingslide Band. These guys were fabulous. Chino's a music genius on guitar. From the time you enter there's all good vibrations; Staff, Audience, and Owner, Daniel Negro. The Audience is so attentive and appreciative. If you're coming to Barcelona you couldn't perform at a better more intimate venue.

We went there as a suggestion from a friend.
The entrance was 10Eur and didn't included anything, what is not quite normal for this type of places. The resident jazz band was playing and we enjoyed the evening. Regarding the beverage prices, the drinks are a bit expensive for the place, like 7Eur for a coca-cola and 10Eur for a beer. Also the staff, the bar owner, is not very friendly. Good music though!
We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent music that was playing. The venue was terrific as well. I highly recommend this club to anyone interested in hearing great music in the Barcelona area.

Thanks to Trip Advisor we decided to go to the Harlem Jazz Club. Not being a particular lover of jazz but I am a lover of music, I didn't know what to expect. It was a Tuesday night and was a jazz and blues jam night. We got there just after it opened at 22.00 and there were only a few seats left. It fills up quickly and the atmosphere is buzzing. Lots of locals are in there and some tourists, but the place is really friendly. The resident band are excellent and play together so tightly. Various guests arrive to play with the band and on the night there was a brilliant Spanish girl with glasses and I could not hear her name but she sang like a true professional, Kyle T Harley from LA was just excellent and the infamous Chuck Norris who I think is something of a regular in this club was a great singer. I'm no longer a jazz club virgin and I will be definitely be going back to this club again. Only 6 euros to get in as well it's well worth it

A great little club in a neighbourhood bar. Daniel has a good thing going here, give it a try.
Our night was a little spoiled by a bunch of drunk “tourists” who could not be bothered to give the musicians the time of day and talked Very loudly over everything.
Why do people do this? - pay to hear a band, then get too drunk to have any manners or respect for the band or other audience members… It seems to happen everywhere, sadly.

Two consecutive nights we have been at the Harlem Jazz Club. First night blues jam session, second night flamenco jazz concert. The performers are professional; it feels almost like a jazz festival. Although quite compact, the club therefore attracts many visitors, both local and tourists. Concerts start at 10 pm and finish about midnight. For first timers it is a little hard to find; I advise to take the reference from the beach. If you come from Las Ramblas the way may be confusing.
There is no food in the bar; just drinks; so have your dinner before you come.

A favorite among locals, especially a younger hipper audience who seems to really come for the music first and foremost. The cover price is very reasonable. The evening began with a four piece jazz ensemble (sax, keyboards, guitar and drums) and was then joined by a vocalist. Over time, more and more local musicians were called to the stage (singers/ rappers/ horn players and even a harmonica player from Ireland). What evolved was a jam session with a very free flowing spontaneous feel. I recommend you check it out! This made the night even more joyful. Everybody was dancing, stamping their feet and clapping.
I am absolutely amazed at the professionalism of the band, their incredible ability to draw in the audience and make everybody feel welcome and happy.

What a great place. There was fantastic live music on when we visited placing some great covers and some originals. The place filled up really quickly through the night but we had a great view of the stage. Get in early for a good seat. The vibe in Harlem Jazz bar was fab. If you're looking for a good night out with great music, average priced drinks, and a lively atmosphere give this place a look, you won't be disappointed.
We went when it was out of season, we hope to return to Barcelona later in the year and will be having a night out in Harlem again.

No, it's a bar with live music. Not a concert venue.

We usually eat at Le Gran Cafe about a 3 minute walk away on Avinyo. Very pretty and elegant, with very good food and usually live piano music. If you use the El Tenedor discount when you reserve with them, the prices are even more reasonable.

hi! do i have reservation?

Spain is pretty special when it comes to children ... but as a bar and evening jazz club it appeared to be adults 25+ if your teenager enjoys jazz they would appreciate but I dare say it would come down to how busy and if you want them to be immersed in a smokey atmosphere...

Does the club admit under 18 year olds? My daughter is 17
Written July 8, 2015
I went there with my 17-year old daughter. No one asked ID or questions, neither at entrance nor serving alcholoic beverages. Even if there was a ny problem, as far as I know, EU laws allow juveniles in such venues if accompanied by a parent. Have fun!
