Fantastic place next to Las ramblas on the side of the gothic neighborhood. Very close to Piazza di catalonia and Next to the mercat de la boqueria. There are coffees and restaurants and lights of the architecture of gaudi.

The Pla de Palau was in ancient times the main square of commercial Barcelona .The Barcelona City Council commissioned Antoni Gaudí to design a lamppost. It was one of the first works of the young Antoni Gaudí.In that time after graduating as an architect he collaborated as a draftsman with Josep Fontserè i Mestre in the entrance gate of the Ciutadella Park. He made the design of two different models of gas lamps. In Pla de Palau the two three-arm lanterns are located, being equal to those of the Plaza Reial ,but their crown is shaped like an inverted crown, supported by three dragons, with their heads protruding. They have the stone base from which a column of wrought iron and bronze comes out. It opened in the year 1890. Real and functional artworks.
