this one should find some time in your busy schedule. There are so much history and other incredible details in this complex. It is not just the cathedral but also adjecent building around it, right in Gothic kvarter.

The cathedral is just amazing inside & out. Great architecture from centuries ago. Buildings like these will last a lifetime, & so they should. Worth a visit if only to compare its size to the Sagrada Familia.

Situated in the old quarter of Barcelona with all its twisty lanes and hidden gems, this Cathedral is absolutely worth seeing. Allow 2 hours to walk through the Cathedral and also to get the lift up to the roof. The building itself is a work of art. The paintings, sculptures, altars and graves are just extras to the story. Wonderful... More

A must-see when you visit Barcelona. It´s a huge Cathedral in Gothic style. Our hotel was right next to the catedral, so we got the chance to see it often in different light conditions. The entrance is free. You have to pay a fee to get to the roof top.

A complete opposite to the Sagrada Familia, the outside really doesn't give you any hint for the stunning interior. It was fascinating to look around and the little courtyard outside with its fish pond and geese was a lovely surprise.

It is very beautiful building and the view form the tower is amazing. Do not miss the separate museum in the same premises as well.

This cathedral is something else. Every bit of it has lots of history, and its beauty is off the charts. One of the best I've seen.

We visited the Gothic Quarter specifically to see the Cathedral and were not disappointed. The main entrance is spectacular and we spent some time taking in the view. Inside, the Cathedral is beautiful too, and you can also take a trip up to the top, which gives you great views of Barcelona. Price of admission is €7 before 5, personally... More

This is a truly beautiful church in an equally beautiful area. The height of the ceilings is unbelievable and gives a great sense of space inside. We visited after 5pm so had free entry but it is worth the €7 fee if you stumble across it earlier in the afternoon. The only thing I didn't like was the number of... More

My son and I somewhat stumbled upon this cathedral while exploring the Old Town area and we were glad we did. It's a beautiful building offering a tranquil respite from the world. You really should plan to spend an hour or two here if you can.

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
