Just. Go. Impressive interior spaces, the roof was just as impressive. This will take you 1-1.5 hrs depending on your speed. Does not match up to a few specific majestic basilicas of Rome or Paris (including the outskirts), but boy does this one hold its own. Great Gothic piece.

This Cathedral was well worth a visit. Entrance is sometimes free. There is an inside courtyard complete with geese that adds to the surreal surroundings. The Cathedral is beautiful inside & outside is a magnet for buskers, cafes & outdoor activities & meetings. The area is busy without being crowded.

The Barcelona cathedral takes centre spot in a lovely square in the old town. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops, with places also, under the trees, just to sit and relax, whilst absorbing life in modern Barcelona. It is a lovely church to view inside (but make sure you are covered appropriately). It is just as interesting circumnavigating the... More

We were in Barcelona less than 24 hours and just wandered around the city from our hotel. We stumbled upon the church and my mom and i went it. it was a nominal fee but the kids weren't interested so just the two of us went it. It was magnificent. I don't have any other cathedrals to compare it too,... More

Took a stroll around the cathedral precincts this morning. Cool dark and very traditional Catholic atmosphere. Loved the ambiance. A sense of timelessness and Christ's peace and love pervades this old church, clearly full at Sunday mass service. Well with visiting and set in the heart of old Barcelona down tiny streets and with a big square in its front.... More

We didn't go in as short for time but the outside of this cathedral is lovely. In the heart of the gothic quarter. Worth visiting

Even from the outside you can already notice the size of the building. You can also see the typical gothic style. From the inside it looks very spacious. I was disappointed that all the chapels at the sides were behind bars. A lot of them looked really beautiful but the bars in front of them kind of ruined the experience.... More

Beautiful gothic cathedral with all the statues in the chapels. Do not forget to pass by the courtyard! As for all churches (but here even more because there's the security check at the entrance), you need to be properly dressed with shoulders covered, otherwise you won't be able to access the inside. Definitely worth the visit!

A gem that once visited will not disappoint. Though, and rightly so, you need to cover up, the atmosphere and feel of the place is truly wonderful. There is much to see and services can be attended if you so wish; the security appeared to be selective over who they let through though the reason for this is unknown. There... More

We visited the cathedral last Sunday morning. As we were passing by the previous day we noticed the dress code rules and this was valuable as we came dressed and ready the following morning-shoulders need to be covered to get in. Mass is held regularly on Sunday mornings in Spanish & Catalan. The cathedral is busy however it calms down... More
