This cathedral is well worth a look for its artistic and cultural history. Your shoulders will need to be covered and no shorts. There are women in the steps selling scarves if you forget. You can attend Mass but you hVd to get past the security first!

As all the other cathedrals and churches of Barcelona, it is very beautiful and serene. Don't forget to wear something that covers your shoulders or bring a scarf to do so though to be able to get in!

The singing took my breath away, held my heart and brought a tear to my eye. We saw this gothic cathedral every time we left and returned to our hotel, it was beautiful. Be sure to cover your shoulders when going inside, take a scarf or shawl or the hawkers outside will charge you an arm and a leg to... More

The decoration outside the cathedral is amazing, very detail. If you want to enter the cathedral, mind what you wear. When I visited there, the guard check what the visitor wear, the shirt and pants. Your shirt must have sleeve and your pants is lower than your knee. In front of the cathedral, you can find some people do attraction.

We read that this a free excess attraction but was surprised as a very unfriendly guy told us to buy entrance tickets at 7 euros ? Having visited so many cathedrals on our various trips we decided just to experience the outside which I must concede is impressive and worth seeing in a few spare minutes. The detail on the... We visited this Cathedral the day following Sagrada Familia. What a wonderful contrast of styles. I am unable to pick which I like more. The Sagrada Familia is beautiful - more 'modern' and a break from the traditional style of cathedrals. But there is something in the traditional style that is imposing and familiar to the gravitas of worshipping God.... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
