When you are in barcelona you have to go there! The people selling their own products with a smile on their face its something different from the other places in big cities like bcn is. The food is perfect by the way. I have been there almost every day to have a breakfast

Very good place for having a fresh fruit. The stores are small but very nice and well designed. Try the stores at the middle of marked

Whenever I go to a new city, particularly in Europe, I love a stroll across a local market. La Boqueria is certainly quite a market! I have never seen anything like it. Piles of fresh, vibrant fruit and veggies, fresh fish and meat, heaps of exotic sweets and chocolate, small eateries and even a bakery. This is a place to... More

You can almost miss the entrance off the Ramblas if you're not careful. But please don't as you will be missing one of the world's great markets. Fish, meats, produce, treats and just about everything on display. There are several wine kiosks which is perfect for sitting and enjoy people watching. We've been there are Christmas when everyone is in... More

As expected, it's crowded with tourists but it was fun. Also as expected, it's expensive. It has good selection of seafood, something we really appreciated.

Good variety of food. You have to drink one of the juices over there. They have some really different juice mixes. I drank mango with kiwi juice for a euro and half. Try some jamon while you are there. It was very crowded but a good place to enjoy some food. Good location to walk to and from different locations.... More

This is probably the place which I loved best during my stay in Barcelona. It's the perfect compound of flavours and foods, of aromas and little wonders which catch the eye (and not only!) of a gourmet. It's really worth going, trying and buying. For this reason, my advice is to go there more than once, not at a rush... More

Absolutely amazing! It's always very crowded, but it's easy to realize why - people are nice, food looks fresh and delicious, everything is so organized...we just can't resist to try some of the juices or macedonias,or empanadas...or just stay for lunch!

I visited here in the hope of a Spanish style Borough Market and my expectations were exceeded. Large market with loads to choose from. It's very popular which meant it was busy and there wasn't much seating which was a shame. I would recommend visiting as a place to get lunch and a drink in Barcelona though

What a place! As soon as we walked in from Las Ramblas, the first thing we saw was a meat booth, serving small paper cones filled with various Spanish and catalan meats. We bought a few for a couple euros and snacked on these delicious snacks as we walked around wide-eyed looking at the huge variety of foods. We returned... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
