About
I want to give people a real experience of what our food really is and the traditions, history and meaning behind it because I believe food is the only way to understand a culture without the need of staying a long time in a place. Hands on Cooking Class in the comfort of my own kitchen, with small groups up to 6 people (with the possibility of booking private cooking classes). You will get to know the basics of Spanish and Catalan cooking, so that you will be able to perform incredible dishes when back home. A menu focused on the dishes of the Catalan coast. Fish, seafood and shellfish from the Mediterranean Sea: Raw Prawns with Raspberries; Steamed Mussels with Celery; Wild caught marinated Salmon; Gazpacho with dried Bonito; “Arròs Caldós” (Catalan Paella); Orange, Fennel, Salted Anchovies and Mozzarella Salad; “Pa amb Tomàquet” (Bread and Tomato), paired with Catalan vermouth and wines. Get ready to immerse yourself in the most wonderful food experience in Barcelona!

Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. We found Enrique’s website while seeking for a nice Catalonian food experience during our staying in Barcelona. The menu looked OK and we were lucky as there was a class scheduled for the day we had free to join, so we decided to book it.
I have to say that we expected less than we received as the food was really awesome, in a very comfortable location and with an incredible host . Enrique is very kind, passionate about cooking and teaching others how to do it. He really cared that we were learning, he was also more than open to answer our questions about Catalonian food and life style and he was always aware that nothing was missing us to enjoy the experience. We ate a delicious menu, learning how to prepare from the simple but wonderful pa amb tomaquet to the famous arròs caldós. Talking passionately about Spanish and Italian food, I had even the chance to taste a leftover of his delicious ragú, a nonna’s recipe slowly cooked for about 6 hours.
When leaving his home, Enrique also gave us some tips to discover the neighbourhood of Grácia where his house is located, and that is a very singular spot that we would have missed in our visit if it weren’t for his advice. In a gastronomic capital as Barcelona, I was happy to choose and advise this experience instead just going to a well-rated restaurant, as I felt you can learn much more about the city and its culture with an experience like this.
Enrique, thank you very much for all your attentions, I hope we can meet again in Colombia and invite you to that ajiaco and aguardiente!! :) big hug.

What a great experience I had with my girlfriend in the class with Enrique, I travel a lot and usually I do a cooking class wherever I go, but this was just something above and beyond! Enrique is an easy going and fun person to be around, as soon as we arrived we felt immediately welcomed and a good vermouth to start always breaks a little bit the ice. Every recipe we did was fantastic, raw prawns were my favourite, simple but incredibly tasty and you really get to know the real cuisine from Cataluña and Spain, would do it again, and again, and again…

I went to the class with my boyfriend and it was a blast! I loved the way Enrique explained every single dish, with him everything seems easy… I found really interesting being able to see first-hand how to make a good fish stock which is the base for so many dishes, now I’m confident with it and I will try to make one really soon: Enrique you’ll be hearing back from me. Class, dishes, explanation, wines, there’s not one single thing I didn’t enjoyed, and oh my gosh, all the products we used were over the top, so if you have the chance to, just go!!!

Just finished class with Enrique and despite what his wife says, he is very funny. Seriously, though, we have taken cooking classes in many countries and this was our favorite. Enrique has a Masters in gastronomic innovation and his class gives you insight into Catalan history, cooking techniques and his own innovative take on local dishes. Plus, he is a wonderful warm person. Highly recommended!

We arrived at @enrriquescookingclass by chance, but luckily ours! We spent a very fun morning discovering and proving new flavors for me and my partner. Mediterranean and sea flavors. Enrique is a very charismatic person, with a great sense of humor and passionate about cooking and seafood, which brings together this experience of 10! In addition, the space is very spacious and cozy and located in the neighborhood of Gracia, a cosmopolitan neighborhood with a lot of atmosphere where we went out and enjoyed a delicious ice cream in one of its squares, the Plaza de la Revolució. Thanks for the experience and we wish you great success Enrique!

We visit Barcelona for a couple of days and we decided to take a gastronomic experience because in this type of activities you use to learn about the local culture. We was looking on differents webpages and thought that Enrique's class could be a good option. Finally, it was a great experience and we learned a lot about Catalan and Spanish gastronomy with him. Thank you for all Enrique, we really enjoy with you!

The best way to learn about a culture is food! Enrique was amazing! Not only we learned how to cook traditional dishes, but we also learned about catalan/spanish culture and interesting facts while having lots of fun. If you are in barcelona, you should definitely do this and meet Enrique!!

A friend suggested me to try Enrique cooking Class during my week in Barcelona! Awesome experience!!! I learned a lot about the typical Spanish cousine (especially how to deal with shellfish).
Enrique is such fun and keen about food and cooking techniques, he taught me a lot!!
The best part was eating all the delicious dishes we cooked together with a glass of local wine!
I strongly reccomend this experience and I'd definitely do it again if I'd ever visit Barcelona again!

I totally recommend you Enrique’s cooking class.
My friends and I visited Barcelona for a couple of days, and came up with the idea of doing a cooking class there. Searching online we found Enrique’s site, that seemed super cool.... But it was even better when we get there!! The cooking class it’s located in a centric and trendy neighborhood in Barcelona, and the apartment where it’s done is lovely!
Enrique is an experienced and friendly chef, dynamic and really enthusiastic; you can see at a first glance that cooking is his passion!! He showed us how to cook amazing dishes, and told us many insights about catalonian culture and it’s food! All the ingredients are easy to find and purchase in a grocery store (although he had purchased them in a nearby local market, everything so fresh and tasty!), and the recipes are pretty easy to cook at home with the help of a detailed guide that he gave us! And the best thing.... We had them for lunch with local wine, which was great after cooking for more than 2 hours ;)
If you are in Barcelona and want to discover the real catalonian culture, don’t miss Enrique’s classes!
