About
Are you looking for a unique tasting experience during your stay in Barcelona? Welcome to my wine academy venue, just off the beaten track by Placa Espanya. It's time to open your mind and senses to the world of wines and Barcelona gastronomy! I host weekly wine tasting events focused on local, ecological wines, and fun classes where you can learn something new, usually with a glass of wine, but I also have beer, spirits and food pairing nights. Check out my experiences and I hope to see you soon! My most popular class is Sabre the Moment: You’ve heard about the art of opening a bottle of champagne (or cava) with a sword. Now’s the time to try it for real! This is the perfect pre-dinner activity for friends or groups to celebrate an occasion together. You’re guaranteed to have a blast! Cava pun intended. Duration: 90 minutes. Sessions Mon-Fri 17h-18.30h and private classes available (also at weekends). Price: 39€ per person
Duration: 1-2 hours

Cooking with Zara is an absolute joy. She has tremendous knowledge about making paella and she led us through all of the steps. We started by shopping at the Mercat d’Hostafrancs. Then we went to her venue, broke open the cava, and then prepared the broth, soffrito, shellfish, and put it all together. We had ordered paella at one of Barcelona’s best restaurants just a few days ago, and the one that we made with Zara was so much better. We are confident that after experiencing this cooking class, we now have the knowledge and skills to follow Zara’s recipe at home to make a really good paella. If you want to learn to make paella, learn from Zara - we’re glad we did.

Zara was very friendly and flexible with our loud, large group. We made two types of Sangria, and had bonus fun learning about the history of Sangria across Spain. Our group also enjoyed dressing up in thematic costumes based on different eras in the history of Sangria! The food and snacks were delicious! We especially enjoyed learning how to make Romesco sauce and this is something we know we will make over and over again. The studio was also an easy taxi ride from our hotel.

Zara is amazing. You HAVE to do this. Chopping the top of of a Cava bottle. This was awesome! And she has so many stories to share - over Cava. Very very cool. He did the hop on hop off bus and all that good stuff. Barcelona is an awesome city. So much to see and savor (Sabre?). But this is so cool. Something you’ll remember. Cheers.

All-around fantastic and one-of-a-kind class! Successfully added sabering cava to the list of party tricks (how many people get to say that?!) and learned how to make one of the most authentic dishes from Spain. Zara was the perfect teacher: experienced and fun!

A wonderfully unique experience! I never thought I would chop off the top of a cava bottle with a saber!!! Zara was a great teacher, instilling confidence in us and encouraging the group! She set up a great social environment while we were able to chat and enjoy a little “pica pica” in a relaxed environment before making and devouring a delicious paella! I would highly recommend this activity and any other that Zara offers!

It was a very nice and delicious experience!!
I would recommend the place. Even though it was a bit tight on the time schedule sometimes. I'll be back for another cooking session to learn something new

My husband and I were part of a nice intimate class of 7 this December and went in with really no expectations. However, from the very beginning Zara made us feel at ease and helped the group of strangers turn fast friends. Easily one of the best, most fun experiences we've ever had! Highly suggest to anyone visiting!!

What a fantastic experience. My husband and I always like to look for unique things to do on vacation and this was definitely perfect! Zara was an excellent host and instructor. Very personable and answered all of our questions (about cava sabering and questions that had nothing to do with cava sabering) It was like catching up with an old friend. The space in intimate and warm. I was 4 months pregnant at the time, so I just had a little taste of cava, but my husband got to enjoy his bottle and mine! Even without drinking, I had a fantastic time! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona looking for something unique to add to their bucket list. Thank you again Zara!
