The tour guide, Ana, is very knowledgeable, passionate about her field, interested in people and takes time to explain questions in detail. It is a small group of maximum 20 people. The trip to Dali’s house was worth the extra 14 Euros and gave us additional insight into his life. This trip was the highlight of our trip to Spain and I wish I could have undertaken a similar Gaudi tour.

We toured three medieval villages in Spain with Explore Catalunya, and we would highly recommend it. The structure was well-organized; we started with the biggest of the three villages (which were all relatively small) and then progressively went to smaller, more-remote (and higher-altitude) ones. There was a nice mix of structured touring and downtime in the villages (including lunch at a great restaurant in one of them), and our guide was great. Would recommend!

This excursion was very nice. The guides were all great but in particular I would like to single out gloria who tried so hard to make the long 12 hour day go by without a hitch. She was very funny and helpful and went above and beyond for us. The itinirary was good and Andorra 🇦🇩 made the whole trip worth while. I only wish we did more time time there.

I booked the „3 countries in one day tour“ in July 2020 after the corona lockdown. I was the only person on the trip, so it was even a private tour by car instead of a small group by bus. Enrique my guide was very friendly and motivated showing me all the places and explained me all the related history behind. We even had time to visit an extra spot. I can highly recommend explore Catalunya.

A great way to see the "essential" sites in Barcelona. This was a great walking and bus tour of Barcelona. Our tour guide, Rod, was exceptional in his knowledge and history of Barcelona. He took the time to answer the many questions about Barcelona our group had. This tour is a terrific way to see the Sagrada Familia, as well as a few other Gaudi sites you may not think to visit. Skipping the line at the Basilica was a big plus for us.
The friendliness of the staff and care for tour participants at Explore Catalunya was exceptional. If you want to explore Barcelona and places beyond, I highly recommend booking a tour with Explore Catalunya!!

Fantastic tour to view Salvador Dali's museum and house in Port Lligat and Cadaques. Tour guide was superb, he was very knowledgeable and contributed to our understanding of Dali and his life. He was a safe driver, courteous and very professional. Our guide was multilingual and engaged us during the tour. The tour was provided as advertised and I highly recommend the tour, especially if you want to know about Dali and explore more of Catalunya. Explore Catalunya has a great location in Barcelona, staff was helpful and the process to acquire tickets and receive message from them was easy. I would tour with them again and recommend them for a tour in Barcelona/ Catalunya. They have tours that would be more difficult to do on your own and you can leave the driving and the coordination to them. They have regions that are less accessible but wonderful locations to visit and explore. I cannot wait to take a tour with them again in 2022.

The visit to Catalonia Medieval villages was exactly as described in the literature. Each village was beautiful, and all were different and charming in their own ways. It is a fairly long day (we met at 8:15 a.m. and returned at 6:45 p.m.) with some time spent on mountain roads but we found the bus comfortable (we were 10 tourists in total and were able to spread out on the bus). Both the guide (Gloria) and driver (Alphonso) were excellent. We felt safe driving with Alphonso and Gloria had a wealth of information on the villages we visited and Catalonian customs. She also had a great sense of humour and was engaging and respectful with the group. Her suggestion for lunch was excellent, the pace in each village was good - we didn't feel short of time. The only thing that was different was that we were not dropped back at Catalunya Square (Hard Rock Cafe) or the office where we started but near the Arc de Triomphe, which in itself was worth a visit. Gloria explained that local regulations no longer permit dropping passengers at the square. It was an 8 minute walk back to where we started. Having spent the better part of a week in Barcelona we were very pleased to round out the visit with a day spent in the countryside and this day was a highlight.

The sites visited were great, and the tour guide friendly and well informed. The first surprise though, was that we did not visit Port Lligat, which is only part of the "winter tour" and not the "summer tour". This was not stated anywhere on the website, and the other members of the tour were also taken by surprise. The second surprise was that we had to pay an additional fee for entry to Gala's castle. It's not a large amount, but this should be included in the price of the tour. Thirdly, the guide did not enter the Dali museum in Figueres with us, and also gave us "free time" at Gala's castle and Sant Antoni de Calonge. The whole point of booking a guided tour...is that it is exactly that - guided.

First of all, I am sorry that you had some disappointments on this tour.
However, I would like to mention that it is mentioned very clearly in the tour description on the internet that there is a summer and a winter itinerary. You can read it very clearly in the 'What to Expect' section.
The entrance fee is not included in the initial ticket price because some people decide not to enter, and we think it unfair to charge in advance for something that they might not want to do.
Finally, the guide does not enter the Dali museum, because we stay loyal to the way Dali wanted people to discover his work. He preferred that people discover him in their own way, and not by following a guided tour.
I am really sorry that you were not happy, and wish you had said something at the time so we could have tried to fix things.

The tour started off absolutely amazing. Sergio (tour guide) gave everyone a overview of what to expect at each stop and what we were embarking on. Sergio was responsive and attentive of everyone and held everyone's attention throughout the tour. The tour itself picked the perfect locations in Costa Brava. They provided the perfect mix of history, shopping, sight seeing, and relaxation throughout the day. Each stop got better as the day went on and a perfectly timed lunch break in the middle to keep everyone going for the next part of the tour. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona. It was absolutely amazing!!!!

We had a great time on this tour. Our guide, Sergio, was fantastic. He provided great commentary during our drive and at each stop. He seems to genuinely enjoy doing this work and went the extra mile to make sure we were all enjoying our time, were comfortable, and made excellent recommendations. We especially appreciated the extra stop at a scenic overlook and the recommendation to try the Xuixo in Girona. The sites we visited were beautiful and the timing of everything was perfect. I could not recommend this tour more for a great day away from Barcelona!

I agree with Rafael, typically the trips are full day adventures. You might ask a tour operator if you may just attend the morning portion of the tour. I picked up a tour with a group just for the afternoon portion of a tour.

The Ultimate Dali tour had a small bus, with a centre aisle, with about 15 seats. It was very comfortable. Many people nodded of on the way back.

I was thinking of taking the Medieval Towns trip. How far from Barcelona is the first town in hours and how long is the drive between each town and then back to Barcelona? Does the guide accompany you in the villages? How much time in each of the villages. Looks interesting but would like some more details.

It was an amazing experience. Visiting Girona feels like i came back at the medieval time. Your guide Ana was wonderfull. Girona from Barcelona by bus is around 1h 40 mins and the next medieval city is less than 20 min.

I am interested in this tour "Medieval villages of Besalu, Rupit". I will stay in a hotel in Besalu on the first day and stay in a hotel in Barcelona on the second day. Can I join the tour from Besalu and drop off at my hotel in Barcelona at the end of the tour?

Hi ! Besalu was one of my places to go but I opted to choose the Costa Brava and Girona small group for one day 11 hours . If you’re coming from Besaly and would like to join the tour from there , you might have to check it with the travel agency if they will be able to carry your luggage to Barcelona . I don’t see why not , but keep in mind that the small buses for the small tours doesn’t have the space for it . If you’re staying in Besalu for a day / night it would be great to just navigate it independently . Then take a public transport to Barcelona which I would have done if I was not traveling with my mom . Hope this helps 😉
