I did this tour with Gerton. I was the only person but the tour still went on. The communication around the meeting place was clear. We then set off on a walk around Barcelona, visiting many places from the book. It was interesting both in seeing areas of the the Barri Gothic that I might not normally have seen, as... More

We enjoyed this walking tour very much as we know the works of Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Our guide was very informative though her heavy accent made her quite difficult to understand. It was booked as an English speaking tour but most of it was in Spanish with not as much translated as one would have liked. Also this is the... More

Thank you for your comments, but we think that you have done this tour with another provider. Are you sure that you have booked this tour with Orange Monkey Tours? We haven't done a tour in English (or Spanish) in June with a female guide. Additionally I would like to mention that the guides that do this tour are not... More

So glad I booked these two tours with Orange Monkey Tours, for our special anniversary. Gerton was an excellent guide and walked us through the streets and special places featured in Carlos Ruiz Zafón's books. The E-Bike tour was great, Gerton was excellent at covering so many points of interest and showed us areas of Barcelona we would have missed... More

Thank you for a fantastic day in the Spanish wine country! This tour was a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. Our tour guide Albert made the trip a huge success because he as able to assess the needs of our youngest member and adjust the trip accordingly. It is obvious he loves this country! We had a marvelous time... More

Gerton showed my husband and I through Barri Gotic, Mercat La Boqueria and La Ribera and it was a great way to see the old part of the city and understand some of its history. His knowledge is great and he was able to point out aspects of the city that you would normally pass by without knowing what you... More

New country, new people and a new city. What is the best thing you can do? Exactly take somebody who guides you through the jungle of new things. We were lucky enough to find 'Orange Monkey Tours' on the internet and booked two tours of them. From the very beginning every single point worked out well. We enjoyed a trip... More

Barcelona has appealed to me ever since reading The Shadow Of The Wind. I finally got the chance to visit this great city and to follow in the footsteps of Daniel Sempere. Our guide was called Ad and he sure made the tour. We all took turns in reading from the book to refresh our memories and this brought the... More

Els made our day in Barcelona, she guided me and my son on nice orange bikes. She shared a lot of interesting knowledge about Barcelona and Catalonia, and she was also a very good company. Thank you for the trip!

My boyfriend and I took his teen-aged daughters to Barcelona for the weekend. I was a bit concerned that this tour might not interest them, but they really loved it. We decided to do a private tour as it fit our schedule a bit better, and our guide, Burt was very knowledgeable and great company. Thank you very much for... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
