Address
Neighborhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

We bought a ticket on the official website to visit the Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona. It cost 26 euros per adult. I bought it on the official website and received a QRC ticket via email. Without advance purchase, you cannot visit, tickets are sold out.
Audio-guided tour in several languages, including Portuguese, remember to bring headphones. I was dazzled by the perfectionism, details of every inch of the construction and creativity of Antoni Gaudi, an architect who dedicated 42 years to its construction. Followed by other architects after his death. Detail... It's not finished yet, but there's not much left. Expected end 2030.
It was the most incredible experience of my 1-day itinerary in Barcelona.

Loved Barcelona! Large city but easy to get around, we walked The Rambles to the sea, visited the Market, took the Hop On/ Hop Off bus, sailed on a catamaran, toured Sagrada Familia and ate many tasty meals. Bus was a great way to get an overview of City before embarking on our own. I would definitely go back!

Well worth stopping by as it is right behind the Sagrada Familia. The views of the church are beautiful, especially at night.

A popular place for tourists to take long distance photos of the Sagrada Familia but also a place to watch the locals enjoying each other's company.

This is a small park right in front of the Sagrada Familia. From this park you can get some great views, but there are some trees that obstruct a little the view.Still the best place for a picture with Sagrada Familia in the background. There is also a big pond in the park and creates a reflection of the Sagrada Familia at night. So come here at night or early in the morning to avoid massive amounts of tourists.

The park is across from the main entrance to Sagrada Familia. When we were there we saw bottles floating in the pond and it ruined some great photos of the Cathedral.

A small park where you get some of the best views of the Sagrada Famillia but it can be very crowded so you may need to wait to get the shot you want.

Placa de Gaudi is a really good place to be. It is opposite the Sagrada Familia and you can get some great photos of the building from this plaza. It is a landscaped square with some water features and trees and plants. It's also a place where many tourists congregate, especially if they are part of group tours, waiting for their tour to start. So you would not stay here for too long, only a few minutes, take some photos and then be on your way.

Plaça De Gaudi offers one of the best area's near the magnificent Sagrada Familia to take some photo's of this fabulous cathedral.
It's a nice little park area but always busy with tourists waiting to visit this world famous landmark building.
It was a good spot to take some photo's of the great cathedral, this is what I did before crossing the road and getting away from the hordes of tourists that descend upon this area,we went The Michael Collins Irish Bar which is just facing the plaza.
