Neighborhood: Barrio Gòtico (Barri Gòtic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

If you don’t mind sitting on low tables the food is great, probably the best beef Wellington in town.
I do find quite peculiar that they don’t offer the possibility to sit on a standard height table though, for older people or if you are having a proper heavy meal those sits are a pain.
Service wise it is quite weak, two young ladies, none local, were not at the level of a 5* GL and trembling when pouring the wine, photo attached
Again, food is good and not too expensive but table and service are not at their best.

We discovered this purely by chance and came twice for a drink. Impeccable service and cocktails, surrounded by subtly understated décor, very much with a British influence. We met the owner, Narcis, (charming and obviously on the ball), and were kindly given a sample tapas of the roast beef, which he claimed was as good as any to be had in England. He was right.
If the service and ambience we experienced is as good as the other aspects of the hotel, then The Wittmore not only deserves to be a great success: it will be so.

We came here as we were staying at Wittmore and Paxati the bartender makes a hell of a cocktail and takes his time talking with you and making a great cocktail! We had whitelady, oaxaca velvet, and mezcal negroni and all were awesome.. . .come here if you love cockatils.. . ..and the ambiance cant be beat.. . .there is dim lighting and nice little terrace for a nice cocktail on great sunny day!
