Our food tour started at the Basilica de Santa Maria del Pi, where we met our food guide Tomas. After brief introductions, Tomas took us directly to our first food stop, visiting Petritxol -Xocoa for Churros & Ensaimada. This was a small intimate café, the hostess was welcoming and we sampled Churros accompanied with a beautiful chocolate dip and with Ensaimade, the Spanish version of croissants coated in icing sugar. A fantastic start to the tour, especially as we hadn’t eaten breakfast and my fiancée and I both have sweet tooths! From here we made our across Las Ramblas and through St. Joseph Market - La Boqueria, an amazing market with treats for all foodies. Having visited Barcelona previously on a Cruise stop, you only typically get to see Las Ramblas, so to see St. Joseph’s market was exciting! We arrived at our second stop, Bar Mendizabel for Tapas and Vermouth. The Tapas was delightful, Patatas Brava and Pan Con Tomate, thinly toasted bread with a spread of freshly cooked tomatoes & garlic. We washed this down with a cool glass of Mendizabel Vermouth – terrific! From here, we made our way to our final stop in an area called Blai, where we enjoyed a further selection of Tapas and a glass of locally produced white wine. All delicious! We had a wonderful time – the food and drink samples were excellent. Tomas is an amazing host, very knowledgeable and his enthusiasm shines through and helps turn this from a good ‘Food Tour’ into an excellent ‘Food Tour’ – well done & thank you Tomas. Thoroughly recommend this tour and Tomas in particular.

Our guide Ilona met us with delight: "You guys are the first customers since the beginning of the lockdown!!" Our tour was wonderful. Ilona was not only "in the know" but very engaging as well. We loved the different venues and they loved us: everywhere the shopkeepers en bartenders welcomed us with big smiles, after a long and tough summer. The food was memorable and delicious, the streets of Barcelona quiet and magical. We recommend this tour and Ilona's bubbly presence very strongly.

Philippe was great. We visited Barcelona in the middle of August when Spain is still pretty closed to tourism so we got to see a lot with out a lot of people. Philippe did a great job of sharing the history of the town in an enjoyable way. We were under the impression that his tour would not last the full 3 hours before dropping us off at the Sagrada Familia for that tour so we were pleasantly surprised when he clarified that we would be with him for the full 3 hours before the Sagrada Familia tour. He made the time fly by keeping my son and I engaged through great story telling. I will definitely call him again in future trips into town. Thanks Philippe! Philippe was great. We truly enjoyed our experience with Philippe! He is very flexible and nice, i had to change my date twice. Phillippe showed us so much in those few hours we met. Even though we were staying in the gothic quarter for a few days already, we explored and discovered new places we weren't aware of. We learned so much from his vast knowledge. My husband and i were interested and engaged the whole time. Thanks Philippe!
