The area

Address
Neighborhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

So pleased that I made the effort to have a look in here. My step dad is Robert and currently unwell whilst I'm unable to leave Spain.
Back to the attraction.
It's a free gallery that's currently showing the history of Montesa motorcycles and some extra information on the great engineer himself Pere Parmanyer. Some information on the company's other contributions to manufacturing including: washing machines, chainsaws and umbrella washing lines.
The building is in immaculate condition with what looks like early 20th century architecture. The rear garden is a green tranquil place to unwind with plenty of seating. Currently, there's markers on the benches in line with new social distancing rules.

The Palau Robert, a neoclassical building with a small park, near Gaudi's Pedrera, holds free temporary exhibits connected to the history of Barcelona.
I just saw two small exhibitions that are worth a visit:
1) Barcelona between 1929 and the Civil War, seen by Gabriel Casas, photographer of the modern era 2) "Where are they?" Catalonia endeavour to identify some of the 114,000 who disappeared during Spain's civil war and Franco's dictatorship.. Very moving.

The Palau Robert is a free museum on the corner of Avinguda Diagonal and Passeig de Gracia. There are supposed to be six rooms of exhibits, but on the day I visited, the museum, only one of the exhibitions was open. The exhibition was on Carme Ruscalleda a 3 michelin starred head chef of the restaurant Sant Pau, specialising in Catalan cooking. Plenty of descriptions in Spanish, English and (I think) French, same goes the video documentary on the restaurant.

Shame the other exhibitions were closed, but I still enjoyed the one that was open.

This neoclassical palace built in 1903 is located at the intersection of Passeig de Gracia and Avinguda Diagonal.

It is a former private residence but now it is a public museum with free admission. The Information Centre for Catalonia is also located here.

The museum has changing exhibitions. On our visit, there were two exhibitions: Catalonia - 7.5 million futures and Carme Ruscalleda - The essence of taste.

We were pickpocketed in the Jardins de Palau Robert just before the gardens were due to close. Filed a police report and were told this happens a lot in the gardens of the Palau Robert — despite having signs for cctv management rarely switch it on. Apparently women have also been molested here.

I would strongly suggest taking caution when visiting the gardens.

I love the facade of this building at Passeig de Gracia, simple and yet elegant in architecture. It is now a government-run institution that hosts exhibition. Admission is free, hence drop by for a while if you are in this area.

Palau Robert is a lovely building and worth visiting. It's free and usually has a photography exhibit (currently Outumuro). It also houses a tourist office. But, for me, the most lovely surprise is the beautiful little park at the back of the building. It really is a peaceful oasis in the city centre. Bring your lunch and sit on a park bench in the sun or the shade.
