Beautiful building in the centre of the city and home to the cavalry. There was an exhibition on while we visited and it was well worth the time. I learned a huge amount and the troops were very helpful and friendly - one going so far as to salute me on entry. Extremely informative.

The Military Cavalry Academy is located at Paseo de Zorrilla, 2. The Academia Militar de Caballeria was started in 1852 in the city, but burned down in 1915. The new building was started soon after that event and its model was the Palace of Monterrey of Salamanca, with a Renaissance design. The designer was Adolfo Pierrad. The building is extremely beautiful and impressive, and is across the street from the Plaza de Zorrila. The building used local stone for its façade. There are two towers that are topped with pyramidal shapes. The inside of the building contains plenty of art. There is a large painting called “La Carga de Trevino” by Victor Morelli.

Although we were not able to go in, I have heard that on special days or with the escort of an official it is possible to see the inside. We were also told that the inside is not as impressive as the outside. This is right at the end of the main Paseo and right by the bus stop we used almost every day. It was fun to just sit and marvel at the splendid architecture.

The facade of the Academia de Caballeria is very impressive and it is a very large building that is best seen from across the street. The building is quite close to downtown and one can easily walk to it.

Due to the fiesta of the Virgin going on when I was there I was not able to go inside to see everything, but it is truly impressive to look at, as it is the Headquarters of the Spanish Cavalry. It sits across from the city part and the statue of Zorilla, both of which should also be visited

It's a very imposing building with an interesting equestrian statue in front of it suitable for a cavalry school.

Valladolid, Spain is an impressive and monumental city. This is one of the most beautiful and impressive buildings in Europe. Beautiful architecture and amazing fountains. It has the potential to be a major tourist attraction if is open to the public.

I visited the local area - passing through from Campo Grande in Feb 2016. The academy itself is a military academy so likely they often won't open to the public but you can get some amazing photos closeby, starting from around the local water features towards the building. Architecture is amazing and is worth a 10 minute pit stop to admire the building and take a few photos. Not a must see but something worthwhile briefly stopping for in between sights.
