We will visit the Plaza de San Pablo, one of the best known squares in Valladolid. Its name is from the church of San Pablo, it is believed that its construction was between the years 1445 and 1468.<br>Then we will go to Ribera del Duro, when we arrive we will visit Curiel Castle which stands on a rocky hill, at the highest point in the province of Valladolid, which watches over the Douro Valley and, at the foot of the hill, the town that gives its name to the castle. The castle stands on a hill next to the Horcajo stream, which discharges into the Douro. We will finish the tour with a visit to the Protos Winery, carried out by Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners, it is an industrial project where the winemaking process is seen, from the grape harvest to the bottling of the wines. Most of the internal space of the winery is underground, here the thermal mass of the soil is used to keep the wine fresh.

Of course a statue of Columbus/Colon. Beautifully executed, but note the images which inevitably fail to portray his treatment of the native peoples, or the fact that he thought he’d found India! Somehow he ended up a hero!

The Columbus Monument is very large and the sculptures at the monument are very impressive and beautiful. The monument is located very near to the railroad station and one can walk to it from downtown.

Visiting the Columbus monument was like going back in time when the relatively modern seamen conquering the ocean crossing the endless water in finding new worlds. The 14th and 15th centuries was a an era with modern navigation conpared to our ancient men when were out of Africa to spread to the rest of of the world up to Americas and Ocenia. Columbus would be known as great modern seaman crossing the ocean. Anyway the monument in Barca privide strong presence at round about at the marina harbour of the Barcelona city. Good to see the place in the early morning when the place was still quiet and clear.
