Beautiful Palace with amazing exhibitions
Dec 2019
This is the birthplace of Philip II. It was built in the 16th century. The courtyard is really nice.
I love the exhibitions; during Christmas, they have a Biblical nativity scene.

Beautiful Palace
Sep 2017 • Couples
The Palacio de Pimentel was the palace where King Felipe II was born and lived. There is a beautiful patio here and at the entrance there is very good tile work that looks like paintings, showing the history of the palace.

Beautiful Tile Art
Aug 2011 • Couples
The Palacio de Pimentel is located at Calle de las Angustias. This is the home of the provincial government and was the birthplace of Philip II in 1527, because the Royal Family had no palace at that time in Valladolid, while the Pimentel family had this beautiful palace. His father Carlos V also used to stay in this palace. The palace was built in the 15th century and is a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture. The Marques de Astorga was the first owner. Later the palace passed into the hands of Doña Constanza de Bazan Osorio and her husband Don Bernardino Pimentel, a magistrate of the city. The building has two floors, except for the corner tower, which has three floors. It boasts of a beautiful patio and in the entrance there are twelve beautiful azulejos of modern ceramic tiles done by the artist Juan Ruiz de Luna, showing scenes of the history of Valladolid during the lifetime of Philip II. These ceramics were placed in 1939. In 1985 the palace was restored by the architect Angel Rios.
