The unfinished Cathedral is vast but austere. The Diocesan Museum attached is very good indeed, with a wide range of religious artefacts, mostly pictures and statues but some textiles, from the 15th to the 18th centuries, with some sculpture and sarcophagi dating back to the...More

The Cathedral does not look very beautiful from the outside. However the inside has a very good museum and there is plenty of good art here that is quite impressive. When we were in the church a flutist was practicing with a piano player for...More

The people of Valladolid seem to be proud of the fact that it never was finished and the original plan can never be done as ancient ruins were found behind it. In contrast to many opulent cathedrals in Europe, this one is austere with almost...More

This is a real must see if visiting Valladolid. It is not the most beautiful but nonetheless there are lovely altar pieces and paintings to be gazed at reverentially. A professional Guide is really required to highlight the history.

This is a truly beautiful cathedral that is a must-see in Valladolid. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to do the tour up the tower, and this is quite a regret, I'm sure the views of the city would be stunning from up there....More

In this area you will find a number of landmarks close to each other, the first one and largest being this cathedral. Unfortunately it was closed when we visited, so we could only admire the stunning exterior.

Nice and raw cathedral, unfinished and with one tower ruined. The Cathedral itself isn't that special as the one in Burgos or Leon but the view from the tower is spectacular!

Whilst it is nothing in comparison to those great cathedrals in the area it is still worth a visit. Very dark and sombre, but interesting none the less. We got in for free as we went on a Sunday around 5.45 when the mass was...More

First of all, what we see today is only a small portion of the initial plan that never went through because of the financial diversion of the funding to El Escorial. As such, it cannot compete with other better known cathedrals in Castilla y Leon...More

Hardly a masterpiece, but in contrast to a town almost dominated by architectural monstrocities, the cathederal retains an atmosphere of dignified antiquity. The scaffolding has almost all been removed as at 21st Sept (2015) and the sympathetic refurbishment (doubtless funded by the EU) has seen...More
