Typical main square of Castilian cities

We went through this place touring the old city, on our way to the Cathedral and the Alcázar. Nice to see.

Flanked by the Cathedral of Segovia on one side and surrounded with nice buildings on other sides the plaza is a popular place with lots of locals and tourists. It was some kind of farmers' market there during the Christmas week. Little restaurants, cafes and stores are in abundance.

Great place to walk around and enjoy the sights. Bring a book and find a place to relax and read. There are plenty of little shops and cafes. Very beautiful architecture and cobblestone roads.

Spain has many plazas. They are an integral part of the community and offer a unique identifier for each town, both for their architecture and the place it occupies in the hearts and minds of their denizens. Segovia's offering is special. Framed by one of the most famous (?) Roman aqueducts still standing in Spain, the plaza at night is... More

There are many restaurants on the plaza. We have found that if you eat off of central plazas you have a more authentic and reasonably priced experience.

When we arrived there was a band playing music and the. Square was surrounded by lovely shops and restaurants. Cobblestones and outdoor seating were all interesting.

Not the biggest plaza mayor , but beautiful with lots of eateries and shops. I love such beautiful ancient structures so I love this place totally.

Beautiful square that is very lively on the weekends. Stayed at a hotel right on the plaza and did not regret being in the center of this superb , friendly , small Spanish city. Plaza is so authentic and central to everything.

Busy, buzzing surrounded by bars and restaurants and looked on by the imposing cathedral. Must be fun when the bands play in the central bandstand. All other roads lead off the Plaza Major down to the aqueduct and out of town. Can't miss it.
