Not at all what I expected from an Alcazar, looks like something out of a fairly tale castle and less a fortress castle. When viewed from afar, it has a very distinctive shape, as it looks like the bow of a ship. This is one...More

Interesting piece of history in Segovia. One of the few must see's. The palace is interesting, but do not forget to climb the tower as well, as it gives you an amazing view over the city and the surroundings.

Lovely views of the surrounding area. Fantastic ceilings and a room with models of all the Spanish royalty. Can't beat the price.

A breath taking view of the surrounding hills. The castle itself is gorgeous, just like stepping back into history! Don't skip this.

you need to get the English (or German or whatever) audio to really make the most of visiting the Alcazar. Interesting history and well described. Don't forget to use the banos on departure!

The Alcázar (Arabic word for royal residence), originally built as a fortress but turned to royal palace may not have the original castle walls but it’s still definitely worth visiting. It offers great views of other parts of the city, even better from the tower....More

This Alcazar is supposed to be the inspiration for the castle used in Disney’s movies and theme parks. Pay the extra to climb the tower. The views from the top are well worth the climb.
