Wonderful experience

I was In Spain for a month on a cultural and language exchange between my college and Universidad Pontifical de Salamanca. I love going to the spa for a little "me" time and this one was only a few blocks from where I was living. My Spanish is non-existent, so I booked my services with the spa online, with the help of Google Translate. I booked a lower leg and brow wax, massage and thermal water circuit. The prices are comparable to what I pay for these services in Canada (minus the water circuit). This is Europe, and I'm Canadian, and I'm used to a different standard in modesty. Throw that out the window when in Europe Don't expect a knock on the door when you get undressed for your treatments. Forget about draping when you're asked to turn over during your massage. And yes, they massaged my breasts. These aren't negative things, it's more of an FYI. When in Spain, do as the Spanish do! Some of the nice touches provided by the spa were bottled water, chocolates and juice after my massage. I had a 60 minute Ayurveda massage and it was wonderful with just the right amount of pressure. After my massage I got to enjoy the water therapy. It consisted of a water circuit with 6 - 8 different circuits that you experience one at a time. I really enjoyed the water circuit that looked like a bed with water jets underneath. It reminded me of being in a hot tub. Each circuit focused on pressure points on your body - glutes, hamstrings, lower back, upper back, shoulders, etc. After that, I relaxed in the eucalyptus steam room. A perfect way to end my experience. If you're in Salamanca, I highly recommend visiting Aquatherapia Spa. You won't forget it! PS - Bring a shower cap for the water circuit

We booked to do the thermal circuit and it was absolutely divine. The staff are so friendly and made us feel wonderfully looked after.

First we had the pool with all the different jets; then the steam room, before a walking path to energise the feet and showers. From there it was into the sauna before having the chance to relax on a heated stone bench.

It was pure heaven and we left feeling fantastic

Went with my daughter for a massage but they say that it is better if you do the aqua circuit that combines the water and the whirlpools, sauna Vichy showers and for last, the massage. We took the offer for 2, and it was really good! We chose the relaxing massage and for me it was wonderful! It's a different thing and with the cold weather at Salamanca in these days the skin gets super nourished! It's important that you bring a bathing suit, the other things they can sell flip flops and a hat to you for 4 euros. It's a very good place to re energize yourself!!
