Interesting architecture. Worth the walk uphill from Plaza Mayor. I wish it was opened when we went on a Sunday but the Churreria Chamorro was serving fresh churros and thick hot chocolate for dipping so I recommend this

Despite my atheism I was quite affected by the air of tranquility and the stunning architecture of this ancient church. The rotunda design is extremely attractive and the weight of centuries is evident in every stone. Whilst I was there a constant stream of people came in for a few moments contemplative silence and, indeed, the church is an aesthetically pleasing island of peace in the middle of the bustling city.

Tiny Romanesque building. The inside has very pure lines and it's very well worth a visit if you are nearby. It's just a short walk from Convento de San Esteban.

This is s little gem of Romanesque architecture, the first church in the world dedicated to the memory of St Thomas a Becket shortly after his martyrdom in Canterbury cathedral on the orders of King Henry II. It is difficult to get access to the church except at mass times.

I was particularly looking forward to see this "English" church in Salamanca but could never find it open. Check its opening times if you are especially anxious to see it.

I only wish we could have got inside! We walked by it on two different occasions, but it was not open then. I took some photos of the outside. It is one of the oldest churches, and for that reason alone it is worth a visit. An interesting neighbourhood around there, too.

This is a really lovely little church. There is something special about old churches, especially the smaller ones. This one has a nice plaza around it that you can stop in for a coffee.
