A stunning square, lots of restaurants to sit down in and take it all in. The square is lit up at night and is very picturesque.

As Salamanca is a university town, there are young people all over. The main square seems to be a favorite meeting place with people sitting on the ground chatting and sunning themselves. The many cafes offer an excellent chance to have a drink or snack and watch people. The place is very clean, possibly due to the extremely noisy motorized... More

Convivial, picturesque square where coffee and food is a little more expensive but not outrageously so. A treat to spend time here!

Beautiful place. Reminiscent of St Marks Square Venice, but not as expensive! Just a short stroll from the Cathedral.

This is a magnificent square, one of the best in Europe filled with tourists and locals, especially children chasing pigeons. The cafes are less expensive than most other squares in major European cities. Sit down. Have a beer. Enjoy.

Good spot to grab a coffee or drink and relax at in the afternoon sun. Very large square with several restaurants at the perimeter. Interesting to see, but typical of many Spanish city Plazas. Pretty quiet after 11pm with not much food/drink options.

Each Spanish town has Plaza mayor - the central square where all people come on holidays or in the evening every day. This is a place to meet your friends and have a chat drinking beer, vine, eating tapas and enjoying the life. Have a fun in Salamanca together with spanish!

This is a huge square, on a cold day in march it was quiet and only a few hardy smokers were outside. Some good photo opportunities.
