Beahtiful corner in a beaytiful city.

Very quiet and enjoyable. It is like having your own private garden with great views of the river and roman bridge. Especially nice at sunset. Great place to just sit and enjoy... read more

As a previous long-term resident of Salamanca, I used to go to this garden as often as I possibly could. Any glowing review I try to give seriously cannot do this place enough justice. It is a stunning closed off garden in the city, with beautiful views of the Cathedral Vieja y Nueva in the background and a view of... More

A quiet shady garden in which to relax not far from the Plaza de Anaya. Plenty of seating. Many beautiful plants as well as panoramic views to enjoy from the balcony there.

If you haven't read CELESTINA yet, it isn't too late. One of Spain's early best-sellers comes to life in this beautiful, little garden that overlooks the River Tormes. One can just imagine Melibea and Calisto's encounter that leads to a tragic end. Read it and visit it!!!

A small entrance, but not that difficult to find if you have a city map. There is a variety of flowers, trees and shrubs providing shade and tranquillity. The garden is at a much higher level than the ring road below and there are views over this and beyond.

A beautiful - but almost secret - spot, specially at night. It reminded me a garden balcony over the city with great views of the cathedral, you can take a walk around or just sit in great company.

El Huerto de Calixto y Melibea is not an actual physical place that existed before the story of Celestina was written. However, as idyllic as it sounds, Salamanca has made justice to the beauty of words by scraping beauty out of the dryness of the province. Nice romantic stroll.
