We visitted the museum on a Sunday when the entrance is free. The building is quite large and has several stories with exhibits from a long period. The higher you get the more modern it gets. Besides there was a temporary exhibition with the history...More

We entered the museum through the chapel adjacent to Convent of San Marcos. On the left hand side of the chapel the museum entrance is at the far end. It's closed between 2and 4 and entrance is free. It contains 2 or 3 rooms of...More

At 1 Euro each (I think) this place is very well worth an hour or two, not least as it's air-conditioned. It tells the story of Leon's history from prehistoric times with well-written information boards and well-chosen artefacts, never overwhelming by cramming in too many...More

We were very pleasantly surprised with the museum. It is very complete, encompassing the full history of Leon. The artifacts are incredibly interesting and shows the progression of cultures that occupied Leon. Recommend that you take about two hours to enjoy the museum.

This Museam tells the history of Leon back through Roman time to the present. Probably more aimed at educational gruops for schools ect. It is very cheap and you can spend a couple of hours here. Useful on a rainy day.

Very good museum (particularly if you only speak Engish since many of the exhibits are Spanish/English titled). It really does a great job of showing the Leon culture from prehistoric times through the Roman era and into modern times. Only costs 2E or less so...More

i particularly liked the exhibit showing some of the many architectural treasures and what they look like today; they range from lovely restorations, to being leveled and turned into a shopping mall.
