Among the most beautiful Cathedrals on our Camino Santiago with Burgos and Albi. A wonderful Cathedral offering lovely gothic style carvings and archicteture. We will never regret our stop at Leon Cathedral. The Museum behind the Cathedral and closter is simply incredible. Handicap friendly access requires at least 4 hours to discover the amount of artifacts. Located near a beautiful square among my favorite stops.

The cathedral is well worth visiting. It stands impressive on the square as a witness of long and important rol of the RC church in the history of the heartland of Spain (Castile & Leon). I was impressed by the beautiful stained glass windows while visiting the inside of the church.

Ok, so we went here and to the cathedral in Burgos and I preferred the one in Burgos. The stained glass windows are outstanding, but, the interior is dark and unappealing. Parking here is an issue - grab the first spot you find and walk. The downtown area around the cathedral is not so attractive. Still, worth visiting for the stained glass.

This Cathedral is amazing. The best stained glass windows short of Paris, maybe better? Try to come here on a sunny day and the glass radiates. Most glass is Medieval as the pieces are quite small. The attached museum is excellent with many artifacts.

It is a beautiful Cathedral with an amazing amount of stained glass windows. Must stop if you are in Leon. That being said, not sure if I would make a detour to just visit. And still not sure if it's worth the entry fee of 7 euros.

We came here thinking we would see a magnificent building. And yes, it was beautiful but a bit pricey though for what you get.
Advice: If you"re visiting Burgos, or Zaragoza, keep you money and visit these instead of the one in Leon. You won't be disappointed.

I am getting tired of more than one Cathedral a day. However, this one is a must see and the number one highlight of Leon. The Santa Maria de Leon dates back to the 13th century. It is built on a rich historical site. It was originally built as a Roman bath and became a palace in the seventh century. It began to take its current form and Gothic grandeur in 1205. Most of the cathedral was completed in 1301, followed by the north tower in the 14 century, and the south tower in the 15th century. Your admission - about $8 includes an audio tour. Be sure to listen - well worth it. The stained glass windows in this cathedral are awe inspiring. It is wonderful just to sit and look around. This is a must.

This is one of the most beautiful places in Leon. It's a must see. The place is spectacular. It's under construction now on the outside. This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals due to the stained glass.

Leon Santa Maria cathedral is very marvelous, with impresive architecture, but it should be definetelly visited from the inside, because it is very famous and known in the world of it's astonishing stained glass windows and it really is. The church has nearly 1,800 square meters of stained glass windows. So there are a lot of them, and they all are very different and at the same time they are all together very nice. Need to be visited if you are in Leon.
