Had lunch there for the experience but you can do better price wise on the side street. Remember to first ask to see “el menu del dia” “the menus do the day”. The food is usually delicious and quite a deal.

Pretty much like any other Plaza Major although this one was under renovation when we walked through. A square with shops around the outside just like most Spanish squares. Nothing special about it except the arch through which you might enter or leave.

With wine or a beer enjoy your tapas from several bars facing the side of the cathedral. See the sea and diversity of the human species mixing with locals. An extremely alive place any time of the year

Very close to the cathedral and all the sites in the old town. Lots of people watching can be done here as well as enjoying a coffee or a drink and a meal.

The iconic square has been spoilt by the activity of a facelift but the abomination that stands out the worst are the lift shafts down to a car park.

Burgos is very easy to walk and no trouble finding the Plaza Mayor and all of the various paths leading to and from her. Lots to see and just enough to do, if cafe seating and pricier food options are your thing.

Do you mean Mercado San Miguel where people go for tapas. If so, it's across the street from the Plaza Mayor. I'm unfamiliar with a central market in Madrid.
