This one of the 3 small churches in the old town that are regularly open. This one has the best kept opening hours, largely because it is a museum nowadays. The outside of this church has quite a few interesting features. Inside, it is rather...More

As was often the case, when I got to the church, it was closed. I walked around the exterior to take a few photographs. The front entrance is very pretty.

The Church of San Esteban was built during the 13th and 14th centuries and has an impressive facade. Today it is the Museum of Retables and there are about 5 or 6 retables that one can see in it.

We did not have time to go inside the church but from the outside it is beautiful as are all of the old buildings in Burgos. On our next visit here will take a tour of the inside also.

This museum is the archdiocesan museum which houses statues, altars, and the like. It is laid out nicely. A walk up the hill but worth the trek.
