First of all, this church is really impressive with its dimensions. It is worth spending enough time inside since it is very rich. It is interesting also to climb to the roof to enjoy the view over the city of Toledo.

It is a large baroque church. Very attentive employees. Inside the church, several side chapels. Stairs lead to the bell tower, from which you can admire the beautiful panorama of Toledo. The views from the tower are just amazing. From the top of the tower there is a beautiful panorama of almost the entire city. I recommend going up the tower and looking at Toledo from above.

Many names also called Santa Iglesia Catedral Primada de Toledo. This is cathedral which has many aspects. The Church proper is beautiful. There are interior courtyards which house both murals as well as tombs. The church itself has chapter house which is also interesting.

Is it worth the trouble and entry fee to see the view. That too of cramped quarters. Definitely no !

I visited the Iglesia de San Ildefonso (Jesuitas) on a day-trip to Toledo, as part of my 7 full-day visit to Madrid, and enjoyed it a lot - especially as it (from my experience) offers unbeatable views of the city 'skyline' from it's large outside roof walkway.

---
I have compiled extensive individual Trip Advisor 'Trip Lists' for both my day-trips to Toledo and visit to see the sights of Madrid, they are entitled respectively 'Toledo Day-Trip from Madrid Oct 2013' and 'Madrid Attractions (+ Toledo/Segovia Day Trips) : 7 Full-Day Visit Oct 2013'. Please feel free to access them via my TA Profile (by clicking my TA 'name' below the photo on the left of this review) and links in each TL. I hope that they are of interest and use to you and that all of my individual reviews/photos/videos get posted properly; don't forget that videos aren't posted with the review like photos are, so it's best to locate them via my TA profile....
---

Like most attractions in Toledo, it costs to visit the 'Iglesia de los Jesuitas', aka on TA as 'Iglesia de San Ildefonso (Jesuitas)'. For my visit I bought the good-value (EU8, available to buy from each attraction - it includes a useful city map) 'Toledo Tourist Wristband' (ticket), which adds 5 other attractions to the paid-for 'visit list'.

I will add info photos of the 'Toledo Tourist Wristband' to this review, along with example photos of the church interior (where flash-free photography is allowed) and rooftop views.

The facade of this church is nothing special, but the inside is very elegant - being predominantly white with gold-coloured decorations/adornments, arched cloisters, pretty balconies, an impressive dome and a nicely-decorated altar.

BUT that's not all for you to see here, as this under-visited church has a VERY significant trump card to play - namely a superbly constructed outside rooftop viewing 'walkway' which offers unbeatable, open and largely unobstructed long-distance views of the city skyline.

Having earlier been massively under whelmed by the extra-cost tower 'climb' of Toledo cathedral (see my review), the vantage point that this church offers was really what I was looking for, and then some !

I continue to be baffled by not only how much more 'popular' Toledo cathedral is than any other attraction in the city, but how well it has almost completely 'cornered' the market in attracting tourists to gain a city view from it's tower.- when the entire (expensive !) 'experience' is managed rather shabbily AND the views from the top of the tower are poor/obstructed.

As well as photos, I will also append some video clips to this TA page to show the interior and rooftop views.

Ignore the hype and apparent 'superiority' of Toledo cathedral and learn from my visit experience - by all means visit Toledo cathedral, but don't do the optional tower climb. Instead, visit the 'Iglesia de los Jesuitas'/'Iglesia de San Ildefonso' to firstly see the attractive interior AND then to further enjoy the fantastic skyline views from the rooftop walkway - probably in peaceful solitude like it was for me....

I think this should be the number 1 thing in Toledo! The Church itself is beautiful with its fresh/clean white decor and the tower views make it all worth it. The climb isn’t too bad, especially considering what you see when you get to the top. This should not be missed!

We did a day trip to Toledo from Madrid. I pre-booked the Renfe tickets (which cannot be booked more than 62 days out) on their website (when it worked :S) and when it didn’t I used this website http://petrabax.com/ & paid the small fee they charge for booking.
In my opinion, the $5 fee is well worth it given the trouble Renfe can be. If you want to give Renfe’s site a shot this link is very helpful - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187514-c80518/Madrid:Spain:Buying.Renfe.Tickets.Online..html

We took the 9:20 train that got us to Toledo at 9:53 We then took the city bus (you can take 5,6 or 22) to Plaza de Zocodover Sq which is in the center of everything. The bus is easy & only 1.20/person/per ride. The busses pick up outside the station, just walk to your right until you see the stop (it’s obvious once you’re there)
We spent the day doing this self guided walking tour http://www.spain.info/en_US/reportajes/un_dia_en_toledo.html It was a good way to see what Toledo had to offer but their suggested times are waaaaaayyy too long. We had so much extra time we didn’t know what to do & actually ended up taking an earlier train back. (We were supposed to take the 5:25 train back to Madrid but took the 4:15 instead ~ which Renfe will change your tickets for free which is very nice if your plans change)
I think 6 hours in Toledo was plenty of time for us but we didn’t go into everything that the tour takes about going into, we more just walked around & looked at stuff. We did stop for the snack at the Alcazar fortress library (which had nice views too) but the only other thing we did was this so we could climb the towers & see the great views of Toledo.

We also did a side trip to Avila & Segovia (in one day), if you only have time for 1 side trip from Madrid I’d suggest the Avila/Segovia route over the Toledo route.

A nice church on the inside, with affordable entry fee. What this little gem secretly has to offer though, is arguably the best view of Toledo on it's roof. Walk up the stairs, burn off that bocadillo, and get the best photos in the city!
Staff were very friendly, and photography was permitted throughout.

We visited the “Iglesia de los Jesuitas” during our visit to Toledo. This church is not as big and monumental as the Cathedral but it has a special splendor. The entrance fee is 2.50 euros but during our visit we learned that they have what is called the “pulsera turistica” which cost 8 Euros.

The Pulsera Turistica allows you to visit eight more churches as many times as you want as long as you don’t break the wrist bracelet. The following places: Iglesia de Santo Tome, Sinagoga de Santa Maria la Blanca, Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes, Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz, y La iglesia del Salvador are cover by the “Pulsera Turistica”. FYI, if you want to visit any of these churches individually you would have to pay an entrance fee and those fees are between 2.50 and 4 Euros.

Like I said before, La Iglesia de los Jesuitas is not as monumental like the cathedral, it’s more modest but it offers nice views of Toledo from its towers. There are no elevators in this church so you have to climb a lot of stairs in order to get to the top but as soon as you get to the top you will be able to enjoy the views.

If by any chance you are walking in that neighborhood, especially down Alfonso X Street, you should visit this church but don’t make a special trip to visit this church. Save that trip for the Cathedral.

At only $3 euro each, it's worth the price (and pain) of the climb. Great view of both the Cathedral and Alcazar.

This is a beautiful church. Seems most tourists visit the Cathedral so this one is relatively quiet. But nice to visit. It offers a great view over Toledo from its towers as this is the highest point.
