Beautiful church built in the 17th century in baroque style. The main altar stands out, ornate with several statues of Carmelite saints, the coffered ceiling and some paintings. We found it open on Holy Thursday and it was a joy to visit it.

This convent is located on Plaza Sta. Teresa de Jesús and dates to the late 16th century. Our guide gave a very brief summary of its history as we strolled past, (not included in the tour schedule), He did say that pilgrims today can be accommodated at the convent and enjoy a place for prayer, reflection and brotherhood and participate in the Mass and Eucharist with the nuns.

We past this convent while walking through Toledo after the Mosque of Christ the Light. It and the plaza in front of it were beautiful in the sun. As we walked around, our tour guide showed us how this convents try to connect to properties across the street by going over them. Interesting.
