The Plaza was our first stop in Toledo after arriving in the city. Since the Alcazar and other tourist attractions were not yet open that early in the morning we got to leisurely enjoy some pastries and coffee. Later in the afternoon the plaza got livelier as more visitors gathered here along with the open stores and restaurants. It was a lot easier to find either the bus or taxis to get us back to the station instead of walking.

    Normal.
The square has lost all its local essence. It's a place where I would never sit down and have a drink, since I would get ripped off. It is crowded with tourists. Many their route is from here to the Cathedral. People with umbrellas waiting to take a guided tour. Zero premises. Zero essence of a city's main square. Zero Toledoans who have met here with friends to have coffee, as we can still do luckily in other cities. And zero locals living and those who persist with trankimacin like the lady who went viral this winter when she appeared on all national TVs, given that she had sued the City Council. I pity her. Tourism contributes, but it turns certain areas into impossible areas to live in peace and be able to have a coffee at a reasonable price.

    The Plaza Mayor of Toledo
Without a doubt the main meeting place in Toledo. It has a triangular shape, and on some sides it has arches. Architecturally it is not spectacular, but the meeting place is. Located a few meters from the Alcázar and not too far from the Plaza Consistorial where the town hall and the Cathedral are located, it is undoubtedly the ideal meeting place due to its spaciousness and central location.

To be in theory the main square of toledo disappoints a little there are two brands of American catering and some bar food restaurants? Uf. I recommend going to the breweries the clover is next to this piaza or down silleria street to the Abbey. Starting point for excursions for groups Shops for tourists. I don't finish convincing.

Tourist gathering point square in Toledo
This square is a square in Toledo. Close to the bus stop and close to Alcazar Toledo. There are many small paths around the square, one of which leads to the Toledo Cathedral. The board itself isn't so big. There is a statue of Don Quijote, a fictional figure from the famous Miguel Cervantes novel. Toledo itself is the setting or background of the novel. Around the square there are many restaurants and souvenir vendors as well as tourist information around here. So this place can be called the gathering point of tourists visiting Toledo.

The Plaza de Zocodover was the spot the our tour guide gave us a break to find a restroom and have a coffee before beginning our tour of Toledo. My wife and I had booked a bus day trip to Toledo from Madrid during a visit this past spring. The plaza is the largest we saw in the old town. We were told that it was used in the past for bullfights, public executions during the Inquisition, and as a market. We were there in the morning before it got packed with tourists, so it was actually picturesque.

I noted a previous reviewer suggesting that Zocodover isn’t a match for Plaza Mayor, and can only assume he is referring to a Plaza Mayor in another city. There is one in Toledo but it is an insignificant little place.

Zocodover is undoubtedly the major square in the old city and is a busy and vibrant place. As you would expect, there are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants (including McDonalds and Burger King unfortunately) and it is also where you can find tour guides or buy tickets for the Tourist Train or sightseeing bus.

Plaza de Zocodover is the central hub of Toledo a city once the capital of Spain.

This plaza is lively and has ofbars and restaurants.

Its a pretty square with seating areas.

The tour by mini train also departs from here by the company Toledo Vision.

A dilapidated place with only a McDonald's and a Burger King as entertainment. THE INDICATED restaurant bar Mazepan el Foro has prohibitive prices: €5 for 25 cl of draft beer, and €13 for 1/2L of bad sangria... Unpleasant service. TO FLEE.

This plaza COULD be nice. Unfortunately there is a lot of negatives undermining any potential ambiance: 1) it’s ringed with American fast food “restaurants” (McDonalds, Burger King, with Starbucks nearby); 2) heaps of litter from above-named restaurants; 3) it’s a short-term parking lot for many delivery vehicles; 4) and there are tons of tourists. The city council should be ashamed allowing these non-essential junk food establishments on the city’s most visible plaza of a gorgeous ancient city.

Pretty architecture, and a central location as a meeting point and bus stop, but that´s pretty much it.

There is one good hotel on the square (Boutique Adolfo), with a restauarant with timeless exquisite cuisine and a wide selection of national and international wines, plus their Cafe El Español serving Afternoon Tea and drinks.

Otherwise it´s disappointing to see it dominated by McDonald´s and Burger King!

When my wife and I arrived in Toledo, we started our exploration of the city walking from this square in the heart of Toledo. There is not a lot to do within the plaza itself. However it is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, shops and a variety of small businesses. It is a great place to sit and people watch or to enjoy a snack from one of the nearby cafes. It also appeared to be a place where visitors to Toledo can centrally meet for walking tours.

After exploring the many winding side avenues of Toledo I never felt lost. Eventually all of the streets will lead visitors back to the central plaza.

This is the heart of the city. Our tour guide left us to explore the shops and sights on our own. It was extremely crowded at every turn. We enjoyed seeing the shops with beautiful items and lots of marzipan.

We were so glad we had a landmark, the McDonalds, where our driver picked us up. The street was so busy he had to drive around as there was no place to park. If you have a guide who leaves you off, make sure you know where to meet him. We had a hard enough time just finding our way out of the plaza. McDonalds was easy to remember and find.

Plaza De Zocodover is the main plaza of Toledo and one of it's major landmarks. Given it's prominence, I was expecting something on the scale of Plaza D'Espanya in Madrid or Plaza de Catalunya in Barcelona, but not really. It's a large public square, but there's only cafes, restaurants and shops. Even these are everywhere in the old town of Toledo since it's a tourist heavy destination.

Don't get me wrong, the square is good, just not a place I'd go out of the way to see.
