La Primera Playa del Sardinero is very popular amongst beachgoers during the summer time. There is a good bus service, which is recommendable if one doesn't want to go through the hassle of finding parking. There is a restaurant by the beach (Maremondo, formerly the Rhin) and nearby are the Hotel Sardinero, Gran Casino and many bars and restaurants, The... More

Lovely area, clean beach and water. Good place to people watch, with plenty of cafe's and restaurants. Nice promenade if you fancy a walk with some really pleasant gardens and green spaces. A pleasant surprise and a different aspect to the other side of Santander.

I was staying at a Hotel in the harbour area so is was fantastic to visit this area with spotless beaches, beach games being played and some well behaved dogs having fun in the rising tide pools. Beach was freshly raked and no litter. Great for putting a beach towel down and just chillin' - read a book or whatever.... More

While my husband and I did not do any sunbathing at this beach, we did go for multiple walks on it. There was plenty of space in late July for all of the sunworshippers, and we were glad to be able to easily grab a drink and a sandwich right off the beach. Also, there are plenty of shops close... This is a lovely beach which was very near our hotel. It had all facilities you'd expect and food is close by. On Sundays (when the tide is right) they play football on the sands. Well worth a visit for a spot of sunbathing.

A fantastic beach that runs for miles , has shallow water for kids to play, showers on the beach. Every thing for a lazy day in the sun with a bar at the back for a cold one!

Lovely beach, great views across the bay and great to follow any of the walkways above the beach. Yes, the area is packed with cafes, restaurants, bars, hotels and ice-cream parlours but they do not detract from the lovely beach

Lovely beach area easily reached from town by bus. Some bars and cafes, but not overly commercial. Excellent promenade/walkway.
