Lovely, cosy citybeach with clear water. You can enjoy a whole day with gathering shell with the toddler, surfing with the teenagers and jogging on the beach for dad suffering of midlife crisis. Compared to San Sebastian this beach is smaller, but also much less crowded.

When we were there it was not hot enough for swimming, however a few brave souls were there. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to eat in. The beach is lovely for a brisk walk. We even saw a few wind surfers on the two days we visited.

Uncrowded, but likely to be due to not great weather. It was clean and easy to find. I sometimes wondered where the lifeguards where tho.

We loved the beach, promenade and beach cafes. If you feel energetic do take the cliff top walk to the lighthouse and be rewarded with lunch/a drink in the cafe with locals. Takes 30 mins .

If you want a truly satisfying holiday experience centred on a beach, the Playa Primera of El Sardinero must be considered world class. The golden sands extend for miles, allowing walking or jogging far alongside the sea with an open vista of boats in the bay to give interest to the eye. You will find the sea air restorative and... A very beautiful, clean and sandy beach. It was very close to our hotel (Chiqui). You can walk along the promenade to Santander City (45 minutes). It is really worth it.

It might not seem much, but this beach is quite amazing. Honestly, if you take all the city out of the equation, and you imagine that beach 5,000 years ago, you can start to imagine the beauty.

Lovely beach, very clean and natural. Beware of the surfers from surf school situated on beach as they tend to take over

Very nice sandy beach with great views. Several places to eat and drink nearby. Right across the street from the Grand Casino. Less than 100 yards from the bus stop so really easy to get to from Santander. It was a great way to spend an afternoon lounging in the sun!
