If you're ever in Santander with a couple of spare hours, this is a lovely experience. Fantastic cliff top walks and beaches. If you're there, go visit - you won't be disappointed (but parking can be a bit tricky if you don't get there promptly).

This beach is at the top end of the walk from Santander Harbour and is well worth the hour that it can take. There is a lovely restaurant at the far end which I recommend, El Parque de Trueba. Enjoy lunch there before walking back along the promenade.

We really enjoyed this beach and walked up and down basking in the sun and having fun. The water is a bit cold but clean and public toilets are available very clean at a fee. A must while in Santander.

We came to santander in August so the beach was busy but it is so big it doesn't feel crowded, a nice place to sit and people watch or go for a swim. There are some good waves of you like bodyboarding. An ideal family beach as the water doesn't get deep to quickly. The promenade is ideal for strolling... More

I love this beach because it's very clean easy to get to and near a few cafes for drinks or lunch. If you stay in the city center it's a 10 minute bus ride, buses every 7 minutes or so.

As part of our wander around Santander, we ended up on the Sardinero beaches. It had been a hot day and it seems that half of the city were on the two beaches...yet there was still room to manoeuvre and get around and it did not seem congested. Clean beach and a small dip in the sand between the main... More

The Sardinero beach is part of Santander history. Its links with the Sanish royal famly, the place to run, walk, lay down, drink something, ... or simply read a book. You are in Santander town and you will enjoy (month August excluded!) a very relaxing beach, perfect place to relax after lunch in the afternoon. In a sunny day with... More

Nice clean sandy beach with sweeping views and plenty of facilities. There is parking along the seafront as well as plenty of seating and bars along the way. This is a picture from Hotel Chiqui which is situated at the far end of the prom and a good place to stay if in Santander.

Lovely, cosy citybeach with clear water. You can enjoy a whole day with gathering shell with the toddler, surfing with the teenagers and jogging on the beach for dad suffering of midlife crisis. Compared to San Sebastian this beach is smaller, but also much less crowded.

When we were there it was not hot enough for swimming, however a few brave souls were there. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to eat in. The beach is lovely for a brisk walk. We even saw a few wind surfers on the two days we visited.
