My kids want to work with animals, always have, so we visit a lot of animal sanctuaries, nature parks, and (despite the sad aspects) zoos wherever we travel. This is easily the nicest I've ever encountered. It is enormous. It is gorgeous. There are lots of animals (full herds in some cases) with even more space (with very few exceptions,... More

I am not a big fan of zoos, so I went because everybody I was with wanted too! It is completely amazing! Didn't know what to expect and I became in love with the landscape and all those animals in a natural ambient! I am sure it is one of the best zoos in the world, at least the on... More

The biggest zoo I've ever visited. And the best, by any means. About a 20mns ride from Santander, a car is a must to visit, the attractions being far from each other. Entrance fee is 25 Euros/person which is expensive. But it is worth the visit. I advice to plan at least 3-4 hours to take full advantage of the... More

This Zoo is absolutely amazing, I have been twice in the past year when I have been to Santander (three times all together), It is fabulous for families, although you are not guaranteed to see all the animals (because their enclosures are so huge), the animals you do see are amazing. I would recommend you to go to the Bird... More

This is a real family treat - not a run of the mill nature park - stands out because of the excellent use of fabulaous terrain. The scenery and landscape alone warrants the visit. Add the animals and the live show of seals - the grandchildren love it. And we were there in the rain - still well worth it.

One of the best nature parks in Europe. Sited near to Santander it environment is simply amazing. You can enjoy several nature and animal shows, view bears, tigers, lions, and hundreds of species. Also you can taste regional cuisine in the restaurants beside the park.

Visiting a zoo is always a bitter-sweet experience, as animals are of course secluded from their original locations but are made available for us to see them. In the case of Cabárceno, it even does not publicize as a zoo but a Nature Park, as animals here are not secluded between bars, but in large open fields, sometimes as large... More

We've been to Santander three times and each time we set aside a slot in our schedule to visit Cabarceno Park which is close by. This park was originally an ancient iron mining area. It is huge in size and allows space for hundreds of diverse animal species. What is so gratifying is that the space dedicated to the various... More
