Previously a dam to control water flowing in and out of the harbour area, Dique de Gamazo is now largely for tourists. The area also contains a dry dock and workshops for the maintenance and repair of ships to support the increase in port activities in the second half of the 18th century. Not sure if the dry docks are still used as Dique de Gamazo seems to be repurposed as a walking area with the La Caseta de Bombas restaurant and viewpoint dominating the bay
