This plaza is situated in the heart of the city and is a very nice place to stop to have a rest, maybe have something to eat and drink or just to take in the sights.
There is a gazebo in the centre of the plaza and, at the entrance, two statues that represent spring and summer. the architecture in this area also has a lot to offer.
This is another plaza surrounded by fig trees and there are a number of sculptures in the plaza that are very interesting and form a good backdrop for photos.
There are a number of bars and restaurants as well as cafes neaby should you need refreshments.

Tuesday 14th December while sightseeing in
Santa Cruz and we visited this Park, Plaza del Príncipe de Asturias.

The Park is located in this historic centre of the city and until the end of the 19th century it was a  Franciscan Friary garden

It is like a treasure trove, with treasures to be discovered, behind the trees as you walk around.

At the entrance there are two statues, which came from Genoa, they  represent the seasons of Spring and Summer. The central feature is an octagonal bandstand, with a small fountain tucked away behind it.

It is also home to the enchanting Statues of Don Enrique González Bethencourt and the two separate statues , called  collectively Le Courage.

There are a number of benches around the Park were visitors can sit, under the shade of the sprawling trees and enjoy the tranquillity of the Park.

After taking a stroll around the park and in need of some refreshments then the Cafe Plaza del Príncipe is the place to stop. Sit at an outdoor table, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Park.

Great coffee, great pastries, great staff. I could have chosen 20 different pastries and they all would have been delicious.

Small shady square centrally located, it is an ideal place to get the weight off your feet and just sit and relax to take a break from sightseeing and shopping.

A nice tiny park right in the center city. there are some statues and a gazebo. There also some cafes nearby. I was there at night before Christmas and it was full of lights.
Enchanting.
