Park your car at cruz del carmen or take the bus. Here you have a visitor center that is super helpful! They can recommend you what kind of hike is suitable for you and give you maps. The hikes are very well indicated along the way. Inside the forest it cools down so also nice on a warm day but in the mountains there is not much shade. Take plenty of water and something to eat. As non experienced hikers we took a 4,5 hour hike with a lunch break ik the middle so it took us 6 hours and this was doable.

I took the bus from La Laguna to the visitor centre, they were very helpful there, suggesting a walk that fitted my requirements and providing a map. I walked the 5 km on my own and it was wonderful, so peaceful with just the bird song for company. Beautiful views near the visitor centre, not very obvious where to go to see but if you cross the road (from the centre) and walk to the left of the restaurant, behind it there are steps, or a ramp, which lead you up to an amazing view. Also there is a cafe near the centre which was very good.

Indescribable. A must if you go to Tenerife. We drove from the south to the north in about 50 minutes (but then stayed in the north 2 nights to do Anaga). Make sure you look up blog posts about the trails if you are looking to hike. There are ones you can do in all ranges of time. My husband and I did the Roque de Taborno hike and spent about 2.5 hours out there. It is all street parking but we had no issues finding a spot. Cannot speak to other trails though. The drive up was also stunning, and there are photo stopping points highlighted on googlemaps. The roads are very windy and tight though, just FYI. Make sure you bring layers as it can be cold in the shade, and warmer in the sun. If you are hiking bring snacks and plenty of water. Also hiking boots are recommended as some of the trails are moderate.
We also stopped at the trail of the senses, which was a little underwhelming after our mountain hike, but still really cool to see!

We adored the scenery. Arrived to Cruz d. Carmen, visited the information center with a very helpful employee giving us many tips and started the hike around - did the Sentiero hike which is fairly short but can be demanding as the path can be slippery and steep. The air and humidity is incredible, coming here after desert environment of Montaña Blanca was incredibly refreshing. Had a lunch (12 euros for bread, soup, main course, desert and wine/water) in a restaurant opposite the parking lots. The road to the park is not for the faint of hearts, it is very wet, narrow and has many curves.

The area is very beautiful, many photo opportunities of fairytale like paths. Longer and shorter routes. It was a bit muddy and very humid when we were there, so it should be taken into account. Especially the drive back was challenging due to thick fog.

We did a fantastic hike in the Parque Rural de Anaga. We parked the car in Benijo and started our walk to El Draguillo. From there we did a steep ascend to Chamorga with fabulous vistas over the ocean and the islands. Then we descended to the Faro de Anaga passing Casas Blancas. The rest of the hike is more easy and follows the coast via Las Brenas and Las Palmas back to El Draguillo. Total walk was around 13 km and it took us around 5.30 hours. Be sure to take some water and food with you because you never pass any shop or bar on your way. Though it was in the midst of the very crowded Christmas and new year’s period, we only met 2 other hikers on our trip. This was definitely the highlight of our Tenerife visit!

By far the best part about being in Tenerife! I would come back to Tenerife exclusively for Anaga hiking.
We were able to get a reservation for the Zona de Exclusión de Monte de Aguirre and it was one of the most amazing hikes I've done in my life. On the drive to this point, there are quite a few nice viewpoints (Mirador de Jardina, Mirador Cruz del Carmen) where you can stop and take pictures if you're lucky with the weather.
The path itself to the Zona de Exclusion is hidden and a bit hard to find, but it is located between the Pico del Ingles viewpoint and Pico del Ingles path, on the side of the road. If you are able to, I would definitely try to get a reservation either to the Zona de Exclusion or the Enchanted Forest (El Pijaral), but there's other hiking if you don't. It's worth spending the entire day here or more, so try to get the most time you can, but even a half day is worth the visit. I would recommend prioritizing this above the other adventures on Tenerife.

We started our journey after visiting Playa de las Teresitas and drove upwards towards the National Park. Comparing this route with Masca Valley it's a much easier drive as there aren't serpentine's unlike the Masca route. The forest is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, there aren't many places that you can stop with your car to take pictures.

The Anaga massif is a truly outstanding place to visit. It has a well developed network of trails. You'll also get to see many species endemic to Tenerife and Anaga itself. The hikes are relatively easy since the max altitude of the massif is only about 1000 m above sea level. When you visit Tenerife, make some time to hike in Anaga, you won't regret it.

Good afternoon, Visiting the Park is absolutely free and free of charge. You can visit with children. The main thing that would be lucky with the weather.

Hi, can I ask you about trails in Anaga? Could you recommend me some web page where are on map all trails in Anaga? I am going there in September and I am looking for some shorter trail here (about 1-2 hours walk). I will be happy for any advice. Lucka

Hi! There is a web in which you can find some very useful information, but it is in Spanish (I cannot post the link because it is not allowed by TripAdvisor, but you can copy this:
reservabiosfera.tenerife . es/descubre-anaga/senderos-anaga/
You can also find more information in the Visitors Center: Centro de Visitantes de la Cruz del Carmen
Good luck... and enjoy your trip!!

Yes, if you go to 'Mirador cruz del Carmen' there are three different routes, one of which is a boardwalk through the woods!
