Review of: sunset and stars
Being an active amateur astronomer myself i was looking for a tour up to the national park with a large telescope and no other extras. Most tours include dinner and other stops i was not interested in. This tour was great for anyone looking for a similar experience. On the way up to the national park we stopped at a scenic spot for 10 minutes to take some pictures and enjoy the view. After that we went to a rest spot / parking spot in the national park. There where a lot of tourist coaches there but our guide assures us they where only there to look at the sunset and would leave afterwards. Sure enough after the sun went down all the coaches disappeared and we where left there mostly by ourselves. We had around 45minutes to an hour of observation time after the sun went down. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the sky and the targets we looked at. The telescope used was a 12" skywatcher dobson withSynscan go-to, a very capable telescope. We then got our pictures taken under the stars that where made available for download the next day. While the rest of the group got their pictures taken i got to use the telescope myself since i knew what i was doing and where familiar with the Synscan system. Nice casual and laid back tour, the only way i can see it improved is going to a better spot with less traffic, but i assume it is hard to do in the national park. I would have loved even more time under the stars, but i can understand the duration of the trip, the rest of the group was getting tired and if allowed i could have stayed all night. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a stargazing trip in the national park but don't want a lot of extras.

A great combination of sunset and stars, and something totally different within a resort holiday. The moon through the portable telescope was particularly impressive, and being in a small group gave ample time for use of the telescope.

I had a great experience going on the trip with a small group well guided by Steve, who was very nice and answered all question! He made the trip cosy with little surprises and has a great knowledge of the universe. My warmest recommendations 😊

If you get to do one thing only while in Tenerife do this tour! It is amazing. We were picked up from our hotel at 17.00, drove about 40 mins towards Mount Teide and stopped to take photos. We then drove further up for our sunset and cava, it was a stunning sight. Our guide Steve took photos and has already emailed them to me. It went dark pretty quickly and was very cold so wrap up warm. I’ve never seen so many stars and planets in the night sky and that was before I looked through the telescope. It was magical. Steve was very knowledgeable pointing out the constellations and the mythology behind them. I loved every minute of this tour and will definitely do it again if I return to Tenerife.

Review of: sunset and stars
Was really looking forward to this trip and it was hugely disappointing after all the hype about stargazing. Was a cloudy night and perhaps that effected it however my main gripe is that it was 4-5 hours with no toilet. So be warned if I had know that I would have booked with another company on a bus with a toilet. When I mentioned this to the guide he offered me a torch.

Hi Denise Im sorry you didnt enjoy the trip i cant recall which night you came I dont remember the exact details however the cloud is beyond our control it must have been low cloud or we would have cancelled on the point about toilets. There are no public toilets in the national park and maybe the excursion shop that sold you the ticket didnt make you aware of this again im sorry but this is again not something we can control. You could have booked a trip with a bigger coach but then you would have been one of 52 customers with just one guid where we have a guide for each of our 8 seat mini buses. The Large coach tour is 9 hours long and is around 50% more expensive plus they dont use telescopes on their tour. Neither do they take free private photos under the stars. So you have to weigh up the pros and cons. A private tour with telescopes and photos at a much cheaper rate or access to a toilet. Many of our customers do in fact use the privacy of the mountain to relieve themselves its a matter of fact thing that people do thats why we always offer someone a torch if they wish to use the privacy of the area to make sure they dont stunmble over any rocks or low bushes. I hope you managed to down load your photos and thank you for your review.
