Hi we choose Darkskies tenerife has we wanted to go with a small group of people unlike other star gazing tours we weren't disappointed. We were picked up and taken to the sunset viewpoint by car we met Steve the tour guide there. While watching the sunset over La Palma we enjoyed a glass or two of Cava, during the sunset Steve spoke about the different Teide eruptions very interesting.we then moved on up Teide to see the night Sky just pop into life, Steve was very knowledgeable about the different Stars galaxy's supernovas he pointed these out with his laser pen. We then waited for Saturn to appear amazing seeing this through the large Telescope he had brought up because it was a small group didn't have long to wait to take our turn. Absolutely a brilliant way to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. When it was time to leave we jumped back in the car and Elena took us back down to Los Gigantes
Thanks Steve for a truly wonderful experience we would recommend you to everyone we know that wants to experience the night sky.

We did the self-drive option. The sunset was gorgeous (but crowded with lots of tour groups) and the stars were amazing. Daniele was a wonderful host and the telescopes were a nice option. The photo of us Daniele took was a real bonus. We highly recommend with the caveats that both the sunset and stargazing locations were almost overflowing with tour groups and it wasn’t quite the small group experience we thought we were booking (both in our specific tour and with all of the tour groups in the area). Bring warm clothes and be prepared for a lot of standing and no restrooms.

100% YES! I have always loved astronomy and during my trip to Tenerife I finally got to experience the stars and galaxy the way I’ve dreamt of. Seeing the stars here is one of the top best in the world. I’ve never seen so many stars in my life! He explained the constellations, etc, very well and I wish we could’ve stayed all night. I was able to look through a huge telescope and get some incredible pictures. My guide was incredibly nice and thoughtful to everyone who wanted to learn more about the stars! I would definitely recommend him to ANYONE who wants to make a trip above the clouds and experience the night sky 🌌⭐️🔭🤩

sorry can only give this 3 stars,
The guide was very good, but too many people attended the session it appears the bookings from 2 to 3 days before had been cancelled so they let them join our session which meant maybe 40 people attended far too many. On top of this at first only one of the 3 telescopes was working then the second was fixed but the third did not work until the very end. I can't recommend this tour to anybody. The plus was 1. the quality of the coats provided. 2. the guide was excellent. 3 Transport on time.
Before you book check how many people will be on the session a lot money for very little.

Hi for your information we are one of the smaller groups even at 40 people thats less then half of Tenerife stars and 60% of Nightskies who take around 60 to 90 people each a night with 4 telescopes. We now have our VIP excursion which gaurantees max 16 people per group with 2 guides and 2 telescopes we are the only company offering this

We booked a star gazing tour. Steve told us the weather forecast was uncertain and gave us the option to cancel before setting out.
He took us up to Tiede where we had time to explore the Roques de García at sunset.
It was cold and soon began to snow and visibility became very poor making stargazing impossible. We set off back down without using the telescope .
Steve stopped at a lower level on the way down , visibility was better and he used a laser pointer to tell us about the huge array of stars we could see.
He did not charge for the trip and offered to take us up again the following night which we didn’t do.
The whole experience was very well organised in a friendly efficient manner and whilst we were disappointed not to have the full experience I would have no hesitation in booking again next time we are in Tenerife when hopefully the weather will be better.

Second time doing this tour with Steve, first time with Danny and Mike!

A present for my mum’s birthday and what a great experience it was! 6 of us as a family and another small bus, nice smaller group and plenty to look at with the binoculars, Mike with the big telescope and Danny talking you through the rest, all very knowledgeable and personable guys.

Sunset was incredible, as was the cava and the astrophotography we didn’t have the first time round was great, I never knew how long 15 seconds was until I had to stand still 😄 all worth it for the incredible pictures with the night sky especially the Seven Sisters (Pleiades).

Got to see Venus, Mars, Jupiter etc and the ISS!

All in all a wonderful night, thank you so much guys!

Fantastic evening with Steve our very knowledgeable and personable guide. Such a privilege to be able to spend some time under a blanket of stars without the light pollution that so often dims the experience. Icing on the cake was seeing The Milky Way! Highly recommended.

A great evening event with a fabulous stop at a local eating place with wine tasting. Wrap up well as cold outdoors. The meal was absolutely delicious & purchased some of the wine we tasted. Very interesting info. Very knowledgeable host.

We were sold a trip consisting of a 3 course meal, bubbly, sunset watching and star gazing. We were picked up by taxi on time by a pleasant tour guide, all of which went fine. However, the trip slowly turned into a disaster for us and the rest of the group. We approached a b&b where we were to eat. This venue was through other and very untidy. We had to dig our way to the dining room by removing chairs and tables to get a seat, as if they were not expecting us! We received 1 course - basic, cheap and unappetising chilli con carne (on a cold plate). As you can imagine we did not eat it. The toilet we were to use was outside, down steps and generally not very nice. This was not easy y accessible for some of the group members and so they were redirected to a second indoor toilet. I don’t understand why this was not the first option. We proceeded to observe the sunset, which we did not get to see due to weather, which was out of anyone’s control. The star gazing was an amazing site, however, we felt the tour guide could have been more knowledgable and almost bluffed his way through. Also, nobody advised us to dress for extremely cold temperatures (not even the tour guide who picked us up from our hotel wearing our shorts!). Overall this was not an enjoyable experience, extremely unprofessional and evidently not worth the €65pp. I think €25pp would be more than enough for a trip of this standard.

It seems my last response was rejected we are no longer using this place for evening meals or the guide that led you on that night because of this experience of yours and other similar ones around that time again I am sorry you had a bad experience and will be happy to tale you on one of no dinner experiences we now run and with myself as a guide completely free of charge.

My girlfriend and I had a magical time stargazing at Mount Teide !
Erik is a wonderful guide, he knows all about el Teide and about the stars. We learned a lot about its history, its vegetation and the different constellations ✨
It was a marvelous sunset above the clouds (with some canva 🥂) followed by a starry nightsky where we could see the Milky Way ⭐️
Definitely a must-do in Tenerife !
