Banana Plantation and a Farm by Tuk Tuk from Costa Adeje

42 reviews
The Caldera del Rey is a vast, shallow crater with banana groves and protected parkland—one of Tenerife’s natural highlights—but it lies a bit beyond walking distance from nearby towns. This tour takes you from Puerto Colon to the Caldera del Rey monument via tuk-tuk—a small, fun three-wheeled vehicle—for a guided walk in a banana plantation and farm. End the tour with a stop in a farm shop for a smoothie made with local products.

We are staying at hotel parque San Antonio and were amazed to find this library in the grounds of the hotel. I read a lot and don’t want a kindle so have bought lots of books with me. If I’d have known this was here I wouldn’t have bothered to bring any. There are modern books and classics, non fiction, DVD’s jigsaws and much much more. It is absolutely worth a visit if you love books and are anywhere nearby. Looked after by a very cheerful and friendly volunteer staff.

Don’t bother to pack heavy books, when you can borrow them from this well established and used library, including children’s books. Jigsaws are also available. Situated next to the San Antonio Hotel, we access it via the hotel gardens, it also has its own gardens with seating, when various events take place. You can join as both a resident or visiting holiday maker, a welcoming smile will always great you. Great for a coffee and chat on a Saturday morning.

The libray is not easy to find by the casual visitor but it is well worth the effort to find it. This is the largest collection of English books outside the UK and we spent hours simply looking at the historical and geographical reference books on Tenerife. There is even a row of books - which survived (the 1909?) eruption in Oratava.

More than a library . Although a wide range of books and films is also a meeting place and informal citizen's advice bureau.
