Black sand and can get very warm and you can get burnt really easily so be careful. Plenty of beds to rent and lots of food and drinks available. The beautiful village of Punta Brava with some lovely very reasonable restaurants is lterally a stones throw away. Try Rincon del Mar, you wont be disapointed!

Fabulous beach with great facilities. There’s a bar, recycling bins, beach showers, nice clean toilets, showers and changing rooms as well as lifeguards and information boards. It’s an easy walk from Puerto de La Cruz town centre and the massive free car park at Explanada del Muelle. When we visited in January the waves were a little big to swim easily but the sea wasn’t too cold. Would recommend :)

Visited in January with two kids 11 and 12. Waves were massive and very scary. Red flag and two lufe guards but still some people went playing in the waves. We played far up from the waves and still you felt how easy it is to fall and get swept away. Saw some parents not paying close attention and small kids got scared. So be careful. Beach is beautiful, black soft sand and gorgeous view. We walked from northern Puerto de la Cru, approx 30 min and great walk through the city.

Probably in-town beast beach, which is reachable from any point of Puerto de la Cruz without using public transport or any cars.
Black sand beach with hint of small rocks.
Not very crowded in the afternoon and beautiful surroundings.
Some parts of the beach are currently under reconstruction.
Beach is well equipped, with fresh water showers and "foot and shoes" showers.

Three beaches towards Punta Brava and named after the gardens. The beach nearest punta brava, Playa Maria Jimenez is the best for swimming as it is more protected. Going east towards the castle, El Castillo San Philipe, are Playa Chica and Playa del Castillo but swimming was not allowed at the time of our visit. Toilets are availabel and lifeguards present. The gardens are also worth visiting.

Black sand rocky beach with an amazing view of the fierce sea. The waves when we were there were incredible and it was always a red flag though some people paddled.
There are plenty of sun beds and public toilets next to the cafe which were well kept.
The beach further towards Lora Park isn't as rocky and there are beach volleyball courts. All around this area are beautifully landscaped tropical gardens and a nice play area for young kids.
We enjoyed walking here from Puerto de la Cruz each day.

Hola,
Querría saber si ahora mismo hay sombrillas y tumbonas disponibles para alquilar, ya que en otras playas no lo están por el covid
Gracias!

Un saludo,

I was wondering what are my options and prices for getting from the airport in the south of the island to Puerto Dela Cruz ??
We arrive at 21:30( so after the last bus )
How much would a taxi cost ?
( myself,wife and 3 year old daughter + 1 surfboard)
Or does anyone know of another shuttle service? From sth to nth
Or Alternatively how much is a rental car for 1 week.
Thanx in advance.

Hi, the best way is to take taxi ( app: 1,5 hours) or rent a car is to prefer. We have reantal car from Autoreisen, during our whole stay there and I we can warmly recommend them.Their office is just outside the flight terminal building, no waiting time or troubles , if you book in advance through their website. Without a car, you will not be able to visit many stunning places on Tenerife, which I highly recommend that you do. Have a nice stay!
Is Playa Jardin beach Close to the centre of Playa de la Cruz town? We are staying in PdlC next week but have no car, apparently the town has a rocky type of beach in the centre, thanks in advance

I have back problems so going down and up the hill a few times every day wasn't really an option for myself.
But we took a cab every time we wanted to go around and it was incredibly cheap 3.5 - 6 euros the most we've paid for a fare.
