Best beach in Puerto de la Cruz

Beautiful waves and black lava sand. Close to town (walking distance) much nicer, bigger and less crowded than the main beach playa martinaez

The sand is nice but very pebbly in the sea and on the sea shore which makes if difficult to walk out

Nice black sand beach in Puerto de la Cruz, typical of the northern coast of Tenerife. However the weather in this part of the island is capricious and the temperatures around 24 degrees in July.

Just on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz is the village of Punta Brava and Playa Jardin's black sand beach. You can hire beach beds and umbrellas at a reasonable price and there are lots of little restaurants around for lunch, try the Punta Brava bar right opposite Loro Parque's gates. The best food ever.

I recommend to rent a sunbed and parasol (for 2 it was 8,50EUR), as sand becomes very hot when sun is shinning. Good services on Playa Jardín - toilets, showers, snack-bars. Parking is possible on streets and when there is full, you can use huge free parking place, which is about 8 min of walk from Playa Jardín.

Pretty nice beach with black sand. There are a lot of trees and plants at it's higher side if you need someplace to hide from the sun.

Playa jardin is very clean and well kempt, with a long promenade and a massive lounge area with a central food and drink source. The borders were lush with palms and various trees and exotic plants. The beach is volcanic black sand and very popular with the locals and hotel guests alike. Whilst it has the beach it doesn't have... More

Not nearly as nice as I was expecting. rubbly, gritty black sand (not like the very soft black sand at Playa El Bolullo), big waves and rocky to get into the sea so it hurts your feet. Surroundings are unattractive. However the beach is long made up of 3 separate coves so there is plenty of space. Free toilets and... More

This lovely little lava-sand beach is just yards from our house so we use it quite a lot. During the day it gets quite full and the sand is very hot, but in the evening it's lovely to take a swim at sunset. The setting is also pretty with the sea defences with anglers near the small castle and the... More
