enjoyed a lovely walk from Porto de la Cruz to Bollullo, through the banana plantation, and the old terraces. the beach is fascinating, with the black volcanic sand and the big waves. very relaxing, nit at all busy, and a coffee shop, well stocked and with friendly staff. all good. well worth a visit.

The beach is so nice with big waves and such a black sparkling sand that gives you the wish to stay here forever. Is not a full of tourists beach which makes it better, is not a noisy one and all the people that comes here are nice, too. You can eat some snacks on the bar, but don't hope... More

Beautiful natural beach. Big waves, small chiringuito, nice atmosphere. 35 minutes walk from La Paz side of town.

We walked from Puerto de la Cruz to Playa Bullullo. It was about 35 minutes from our hotel. If you like to walk it is a must. The walk goes through a banana plantation, then through a ravine before taking you to the beach where you must make your way down from the top of the cliff to the black... More

Spent an hour walking here from Puerto but it was absolutely worth the jaunt. Although you can get a taxi to the top entrance there is still a few steps to climb down before reaching the beach. Obviously it's inaccessible to wheelchairs and people with walking difficulties. There's a bar on the beach and a place to rent parasols and... More

I did my research. I was looking for the best beach in Tenerife. After reading a lot of reviews (from local people! not tourists) we decided to go to El Bollullo. It was great! PRO: Black sand, no rocks, incredible waves, not a lot of people, two lifeguards, a little shop. CON: You can't really swim, the waves are to... More

We got a taxi here because I was unsure of the walk. Did not realise how steep it was to be able to actually get to the beach. Husband stayed at the top and I ventured down. Lovely scenery but I did not think it was anything special. Very loud music playing from the beach bar. I had expected peace... More

Too dangerous to swim past waist height due to waves snd current. Nice bar BUT do not use the toilets, two traps one toilet bowl with no lid the othet the tray type, both utterly disgusting, no hand basins, used the bush far more hygenic

... beware .. a) it is very difficult to reach (experienced drivers managing narrow and steep roads), b) its a long walk down from the parking lot, c) there is a beach bar (loved it!), d) the waves are often so big and the current so strong that you cant actually swim. Surfers may risk e) sticky black sand ...... More

Really beautifull beach near Puerto de la Cruz. There is quite a few steps before arriving to the beach from the parking place, but the views on the way are amazing. Beware, black sand will be really hot when sun warms it up!
