This is really an excellent hike because of the beautiful views, the geology, the flora, the flowing water and the length of the path. This hike has become very popular, and if you like to be alone with nature, go early in the morning.

We drove from El Medano (southern Tenerife) through Santiago del Teide up to Masca. After visiting Masca we drove north to Buenavista del Norte and then west to Punta de Teno. On the trip back we stopped in the beautiful town of Garanchico and then took a different road through the mountains to Sanitiago del Teide. I believe this was... More

We visted Masca Feb 2017, taking the bus from Santiago del Tiede. This was our second visit, the first time in 2013. Usually a second visit is dulled by ones memory enhancing the actual experience: I.E. the first time is always best. Well not with Masca, as my title of this review explains why we were glad we did.

The road from Santiago to Masca and then on to Las Portelas and Buenavista is one of the most spectacular we have ever seen, with a long series of hairpin bends up and down. The views from the restaurant at Mirador Hilda and from Mirador de Baracan are especially good as well as the scenery in Masca itself, and the... More

What a surprise! Lovely village down a three mile ish narrow road. Not for the faint hearted driver. great fun to follow the local bus back up the road and see the tourists struggling to get by. Go early to be able to park.

One of the main attractions in Tenerife. You dont need to go early in morning as many are writing here, also ok to go in afternoon. Be carefull with driving as you might meet tourist busses in the extremly dangerous roads. Stay away after sunset, windy, a bit cold and not good to drive there. Some difficulties find parking spots... More

Our bus climbed up an amazing twisty and steep road with hairpin bends right up to Masca village. We went onto a traditional tapas lunch and to a cellar to sample the local wines. A great day out !!

Masca part of the tour was VOW! In my life I’ve seen and admired many spectacular landscapes, but Masca is among the most impressive ones. It started as a beautiful if seemingly rather ordinary mountain drive, but already a stop at the village was something. Sitting in a café terrace and enjoying cactus ice cream (delicious if outrageously expensive) with... More

If you dare the roads I recommend you go there on your own. Either directly to Masca village or to Los Gigantes and book a ride to Masca and a boat back after the trip down to the beach. Unfortunately the sea was a bit rough and we couldn't make the trekking, instead we booked a tour that included other... More

We were taken here by friends who live on Tenerife at their recommendation. We know why! It is one of the most amazing experiences you can have on Tenerife. The road to Masca is an experience in itself. This time we weren't driving so we could have the full benefit of one of the scariest roads we have ever been... More
